Re: Linux PPC build?

Hi Richmond, The alternative is to just learn the magic incantations and use them each time: git clone --recursive https://github.com/runrev/livecode.git cd livecode git submodule update for the first time. If you already have the source code from the commands above, git pull git submodule update wi...

Re: Linux PPC build?

Hi Richmond, The problem is the same problem as compiling for the ARM-based RaspberryPi: as part of the compilation process, a pre-built binary copy of LiveCode (actually, Revolution!) gets run to generate some of the source files. Because these pre-builts only exist for Mac-x86, Mac-PPC, Linux-x86 ...

Re: Linux PPC build?

Hi Richmond, Talking unofficially (as if I ever do anything else ;)), it shouldn't (in principle) be any harder to build LiveCode for PPC Linux yourself than building it for the RaspberryPi (but with the massive advantage that PPC machines are probably fast enough that you don't need to cross-compil...

Re: Release: LiveCode for RPi 6.5.1

Hi Rama, Hermann is right - I've been very busy with other things unfortunately. Real-life gets in the way sometimes! I'm not too far off getting the standalone builder working for RPi; I just need to tidy things up and do some testing to make sure everything still works properly. I'll post a messag...

Re: Official Platform?

It looks like the update to the LiveCode downloads page has made the directory inaccessible. You should still be able to download it if you go to http://downloads.livecode.com/livecode/ and scroll down to the RaspberryPi section at the bottom.

Regards,
Fraser

Re: Official Platform?

The best way to get more information is to just ask ;) I've been pretty busy over Christmas so there's not been much progress in getting the Android and Linux-ARM standalone builders working - I should be able to get the Linux-ARM one done sometime this week, hopefully. Android is more complicated a...

Re: Colors, shortcuts, and THANK YOU!

There is an option with the RPi GPU that swaps the colour order in the GPU between RGB and BGR but it seems odd that it is only happening in some places (I can't remember off-hand, but I think the colour picker dialogue might be provided by the system rather than being built in to LiveCode). It migh...

Re: Official Platform?

What do you mean " prospect of having LC working on the Raspberry Pi"? Works perfectly well on my RPi ;) I'll admit that it's still rough around the edges but the 6.5.1 release I've just put out should bring it closer to the other desktop platforms - all externals and standalone engines (except iOS ...

Re: RaspberryPi

Hi Hermann, A RaspberryPi forum has now been added at http://forums.runrev.com/viewforum.php?f=76. In terms of getting started, the guidance for other platforms (especially Linux) should be helpful - the RPi build isn't really any different from the normal Linux build. I'll see about posting some in...

Re: LiveCode and the RaspberryPi

I've not done any work on the sensors/output stuff (yet). I believe most of them can be accessed via procfs and sysfs files and utilities invokable through the shell though this is obviously not the nicest approach. I'll hopefully be able to spend some of my time over the Xmas hols looking at provid...

Re: LiveCode and the RaspberryPi

Hi forrrge, At the moment, you can only deploy to the RPi from the RPi. I'm hoping to change this in the next release, allowing any desktop platform to deploy to the RPi. I'll post an update to http://forums.runrev.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=18407 when it becomes available. (The intention is to post t...

Re: RaspberryPi

Hi Robert, Good to hear that it is working. One other thing that has been suggested is providing an SD card image that includes LiveCode which should help avoid this problem in future - everything will be configured just how LiveCode likes it. Given your particular use-case, it could be especially u...
