Re: How To Play Video On Google Drive With A Player Object?

Hi Jacque & [-hh]. Thank you for your help. I tried the direct address link but couldn't get it to work. Yes I included the last space. Could Google be creating a temporary file path that expires after a period of time? If you download the video again and with your method check the video's file path...

Re: How To Play Video On Google Drive With A Player Object?

Thanks Jacque for responding. Yes, that's the shareable link, but the LC forum doesn't extend the link underline all the way across to include the last space. That's the code I was assigned. I can't change it. I tried with quotes but no improvement. I didn't add the underscores, that was done by the...

How To Play Video On Google Drive With A Player Object?

I've been trying to play a video uploaded to Google Drive with a player object. I can't get a valid file path. Here's the Google Drive shareable link to video "sampleMPG.mpg". It's the default LiveCode sample video. Note the spaces within and at the end of the link. https://drive.google.com/open?id=...

Re: Audio & Video Lesson .txt

Thanks Bogs for Linux details on mPlayer, very helpful. I'm favoring VLC (user preferred) over mPlayer (LiveCode Ltd suggested) as the Linux default multi-media player & codec. VLC player https://www.videolan.org/vlc/#download mPlayer http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design4/dload.html. Long-suffering Linux ...

Audio & Video Lesson .txt

I finished writing the first draft of an audio & video lesson with examples taken from the forum, thanks Klaus and Jacque. I'd like any comments, errors, omissions for improvement. I'll post a final draft for any interested. In particular, 1) I tried the K-Lite Basic codec for Windows (includes LAV ...

Re: Updating Footnoted Text

Hi MontyMay. I came up with a solution using wordOffset(). Turns out not so easy. There must be a space after the sentence's period to make the placeholder "FN" a word. Existing text formatting is preserved using the htmlText property. There's an option for renumbering a footnote list at the end of ...

Re: Nine Chart Examples

Updated Chart Maker stack at the top of the thread again, now with 15 charts. Also updated Pie Slice, enabled multi-snapshots, simplified deleting charts. Fun for all ages. Terry

Re: DataGrid in standalone doesn't´t work

Hi emir. Include a substack named "Data Grid Templates Decoy" (exact spelling) as part of the Splash stack. This will force the auto inclusions routine to include the datagrid library in the standalone build. LC v8+ now includes the datagrid library in the manual inclusions option also. From LiveCod...

Re: Search For Improved Splash Standalone

Thanks Jacque. I tried start using with a launcher splash that stays open. That was the trick. Closing a splash and then adding it to the stacksInUse re-opens the thing. Here's my take on a launcher splash that stays open, contains the save routines, and is in the msg pathway of the working stack. T...

Search For Improved Splash Standalone

Thanks to Dunbarx and Bogs for examples of an uncompiled Splash stack and Working stack on another thread. I've been experimenting with improvements. I was hoping to use an on startup handler but I couldn't get it to work. I was surprised that the Splash.exe is not in the message pathway of the Work...

Dunbarx: Could you please post an example of an uncompiled splash stack and its simple working stack in v6 format. As I understand it, there are several variations of this standalone strategy. Thank you. Terry

Re: Datagrid Stack Based Database

I made another stack database with a table field that looks similar to a datagrid table using BN's brilliant alternating colored lines routine. It could have other applications. Also with subtractive search, easy setup & data entry, sorting, three reports to PDF. Terry

Hi gagsoft. Here are links to a LiveCode lessons stack (Beginner Lab) that includes an example of a simple stack database (Rolodex). Maybe it will give you some ideas for your project. Hi Vascoribeiro. LC would make a fun project, but don't underestimate the lowly spreadsheet. I put this together in under an hour. Maybe it will help. Terry
