Re: Group objects "Lessons Learned" & question

Craig,
That may work, I'll explore that.
It does seem to be a little more code, depending on how many objects are on your card.
Thanks, all suggestions are valuable even for later use.

Re: Group objects "Lessons Learned" & question

Klaus,
after some thought, using "of" makes sense to me. I didn't think about that.
Thanks again you are always most helpful with my questions.

Re: Group objects "Lessons Learned" & question

Hi Klaus,
are you saying the key word for this script is "of" Group, not "in" Group that I was using?

Group objects "Lessons Learned" & question

I bring items to the forum for 2 reasons: 1. to get answers/advice from more experienced users and 2 . to expose other users to problems that I am having with LiveCode. Call this "Lessons Learned" I have been working with Group Objects as of late. I thought I was having good experiences using code t...

sharing fields on multiple cards

I know that I can have groups on multiple cards. But, how do I share a table or a field on 2 cards that reflect the same data? for example: if I have a table on one card and I want to see and edit that same table on another card. I have made groups with fields that are shared on 2 cards but they don...

Re: a new problem

Yes, I tried that too.
I tried everything.
I have taken the time to rewrite my code and I seem to have gotten rid of the hidden culprit, wherever it is.

Re: a new problem

Hey Craig, Thanks for the tip. I actually looked everywhere that I could find. I know it's there but where? I finally started remarking out sections of my scripts to search for the affected script. I can't find it anywhere. I beginning to think that it is somewhere that is hidden and am actually bac...

a new problem

All of a sudden, my "on MouseUp" doesn't work on my scrolling table field. My "on MouseDOwn" does work on this field.
Has anyone seen this happen?
all other field in my app work with the "on mouseUp"
Update: this problem seems to be specific to my application.
Now, what to look for?

Re: emulating the ask dialog

Yes, both the ask and answer dialog boxes, as far as I know.
The problem that I am trying to avoid is: I have multi-line table list fields that need to be editable also.
The ask dialog makes this hard to do.
