Re: LiveCode won't run anymore

I must say that this has me completely baffled. I also disabled my firewall software, just in case. Are the LiveCode Tech the only people that can review and understand the the Crash Logs? Apparently every time LiveCode tries to run and fails, it creates a DMP file which is a binary file of some sor...

Re: LiveCode won't run anymore

I deleted after I renamed them so that I could recover the files in the folders.
I tried to make LiveCode to think it was a completely new install.
Thanks.

It is a simple sample of a way of presenting a option to have a button of anything else presented to a list ite...

Re: using groups

Thanks Jacque. I learned a lot of information last night at our Pasadena LiveCode User group meeting. I found out just what you said but with some other information. Using the copy function along later with the remove function removes the group visually from my card. It does not however remove the g...

using groups

I am starting to use a development philosophy of using GROUPS. I know that the use of groups is nothing new. I like using groups because they allow for a great versatility in creating a good user experience. The biggest problem with using groups is that your development environment can become very ...

Re: Datagrid Stack Based Database

I just found your sample and it gives me ideas.
I new that there were ways of creating a datagrid type of interface and this is great.
Thanks for your contribution. I am studying this sample with great expectations.

Re: On MouseUp with a parameter question

Thanks Klaus.
When I add a parameter to an object, does this initiate a change in the message path that allows the detection of the parameter?

On MouseUp with a parameter question

When I use the following code, what actually happens? This is the code for a button object: on MouseUp pBtnNum --answer pBtnNum if pBtnNum = 3 then answer "ok" end MouseUp I am assuming that by adding the parameter pBtn to the “on MouseUp” command that this allows me to access the pBtn in the script...

Re: Group objects "Lessons Learned" & question

Klaus, I don't know. when I initially did this script, it worked. Now,it does not recognise my group and stars with other objects on my card. I am completely baffled. I am just going to use ""the ChildControlName" command for now. It has been working flawlessly for now. I even tried the LiveCode ver...

Re: Group objects "Lessons Learned" & question

OK, my report back. Klaus, using "OF" group in the code above does not work, nothing changed. I went back to the code and tried. Craig, I have not tried the "if the owner of fld xField = theGroupOfInterest then..." yet. But I may use that elsewhere. But apparently Of and The are not the same and nei...
