Re: A darker Background editor ! Or more colors to the existing one.

Hi bogs,

actually the credit goes to Hermann, he proposed a solution similar to this one for tinyDictionary.

Kind regards

Re: A darker Background editor ! Or more colors to the existing one.

Hi, another option is to issue set the ink of fld "script" of stack "revSETemplate" to "blendExclusion" you can try this from the message box: close all Script Editors and put above code into the message box and hit return. Then open a script. If you like this you could do a plugin that does it for ...

Re: Rev 4.0 - stack does not open

HI Bernd, you could try to lock messages. In the IDE in the Development Menu you have the option to check "Supress Messages". Then try to open your stack. Depending on how you have implemented your time limit it might open. If it does not you can look at a .livecode stack in any text editor, as long...

Re: widget format switched

Hi Hermann, i just tested with a relatively simple widget. I compiled and installed using LC 8.1.8. That widget opened without problem and without recompilation in LC 8.1.5/7 LC 8.1.9 RC1 and also LC 8.2.0 DP2. The widget was recompiled when I opened LC9 DP 11 and then it was incompatible with the L...

Re: SVG Icon Tool

Thanks Brian,

this is a very nice tool. It will be ever more important the better LC can handle SVGs.

Re: working with lcdoc files

Mark,

could you send me the header part of the .lcb file with a couple of properties, not necessarily the whole .lcb file off list?
There is something strange going on. There is no reason why a simple .lcb file properly formatted does not show up in the dictionary.

Kind regards

Re: working with lcdoc files

Mark, could it be that the inline documentation in the .lcb file of those two widgets is malformed? I have seen that when e.g. when the top declaration in the .lcb file was not /** text */ widget community.livecode.berndN.widgetname especially the initial /** needs two asterisks When you install tho...

Re: Scroll string into view, Dontwrap set to FALSE [Solved]

Hi Jean-Marc, Button works fine but I get a bad result when I clic on the grey line of the scroolbar of Bernd's stack "scroll to middle". Only two results, 121 or 1 set the pageInc of the scroller to - 1 or - 2 or a similar value, then try again. I did not test clicking in the grey line because it i...

Re: Scroll string into view, Dontwrap set to FALSE [Solved]

Hi Jean-Marc, put (textHeight of fld 1 = empty) && (effective textHeight of fld 1 = empty) this should happen when you do not set the textHeight of a field explicitly, then the textHeight is empty and the inherited textHeight (= effective textHeight) is not empty. Try to set the textHeight of the fi...

Re: Scroll string into view, Dontwrap set to FALSE [Solved]

Hi,

here is a solution that does not need a second field. It supports different textsizes and does not depend on "fixed textHeight" but it is a bit more involved.

use scrollbar or button to play around with. It is a file in 5.5 format.

Kind regards

Re: Dictionary rewrite - thoughts, please

Due to changes how LC organizes dictionary data in LC 8.2 DP2 and LC 9 DP 10 tinyDictionary did not display LCB dictionary entries anymore. TinyDictionary version 0.8.3 restores that functionality and is backwards compatible. Thanks James Hale for the code for the acqusition of the dictionary array....

Re: Single field object class?

Hi Craig, I tried to explain this in http://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=29977&e=1&view=unread#p159362 it was a mid-air collision between your post here and my post there. What triggers LC to know it is a tableField is in the frontscript library the "openField" handler. This handler check...

Re: Lock a table field

Hi Jacque, this code from above works in LC9 DP9 Hi Craig, you could try on a tableField which happens to be field 3 in my case -- revIDESetTableProperty pObject, pProperty, pValue -- in revIDELibrary put the long ID of field 3 into tObject put "cellEdit" into tProperty put "false" into tValue revID...

Re: Lock a table field

Craig, I thought that was made clear: it all happens in the frontScript "revTable", and a couple of custom properties set in the field in "cRevTable" Those custom properties are looked for in the frontScript in on openfield and the frontscript then knows it is a tableField. Without the frontScript t...

Re: Lock a table field

In case anyone has looked at tinyDictionary (works from LC version 8.1 upwards) The upper part displaying the search results is a simple field with some scripting on top. You can go a long way with a field to display tabular data without the hassles of the tableField. And no, it is not a DataGrid. T...
