Re: Returning to LiveCode

jmburnod wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 11:34 pm Bernd did TinyDictionary. I have to agree, He (and Brian and a few others) really did a fantastic job on it. It is responsive as all get out, and can be resized to a far greater use of space and still be usable than the included dictionary. While you still...

Re: Default Script

the default script did not work for me either.
I resorted to make a button that sets the script.

but Hermann's solution might be easier.

Re: Wrap Text in Rect

What happens is that there is a large gap at the top of the box, and then all the text is at the bottom that it because your pTextBox is too tall, If you set its height to text height and not changing the topLeft or alteratively creating a new rect for filling that has the width of pTextBox and the...

Re: Wrap Text in Rect

Greg, I did not know newLine, good to know, thank you. here is your handler set up to display text centered. I made a variable tAlign which is hardcoded here. It would probably be easier to make it a property so you can set it via script or from the properties Inspector. Then the "fill" command is c...

Re: Wrap Text in Rect

Greg, as far as return is concerned I resorted to this solution create some new variables and put a linefeed character into your list of words as a test. I assume that if you pass the widget a string with a return from LCS it will be linefeed (ASCII 10). variable tReturnChar as String get the char w...

Re: Wrap Text in Rect

Greg, regarding alignment I only found this solution variable tAlign as String put "center" into tAlign and then if tAlign is "center" then fill text tLine at center of pTextBox on this canvas else if tAlign is "top left" then fill text tLine at top left of pTextBox on this canvas else if tAlign is ...

Re: Default Script

Greg, your default script has some typos this compiles on mouseUp end mouseUp --Sent if mType is "Action", need to add more cases as needed on actionSelected switch the buttonSelected of me case 1 --Put Actions here break case 2 --Put Actions here break end switch end actionSelected function getSele...

Re: Invisible syntax error?

Hi Craig, if you use http://livecodeshare.runrev.com/stack/825/TinyDictionary as a plugin then you have for each version of Livecode starting with 8.1 the current dictionary of that version. I.e. if you have both LC 8.1 open and 9.0 open and you open TinyDictionary in each of those you will have the...

Re: frame-byframe with Video Formats

Hi Klaus, Xero,

I did not test enough and did not read the dictionary well. I fell afoul of thinking that "currentTimeChanged" was related to a frame change. This assumption did not work out.

I will leave the stack here as a "bad" example.

Kind regards

Re: frame-byframe with Video Formats

Hi Xero, here is a stack that attempts to implement a step forward and step backward button. It works most of the time. To determine the frame duration I have to "calibrate" the movie for 1 second. I then take the time units in the timescale and divide by number of frames. The logic is almost all in...

Re: Parse to number error

Hi Greg, the problem here is that "as Number" has to be lower case "as number". Uppercase is for casting types in variable declarations. Note "log" which is very helpful for debugging. You can log anything if you put it into square brackets [] like log [tVariable1, tVariable2], for strings you can o...

Re: Add pref for renaming behiors

Hi Jim, as outlined in the link to the forum you posted it is probably not possible to reassign the behaviors when you rename the stack where the behavior buttons live. In addition to the problems mentioned in the other thread you mentioned there is the problem of nested behaviors which can consist ...

Re: relative image paths and custom controls

unfortunately I made a mistake in the code snippet. I should read on newGroup resolve image "redQMark" relative to button "bOne" of me if it is not empty then set the hilitedIcon of button "bOne" of me to the short id of it end if resolve image "greenRound" relative to button "bOne" of me if it is n...

Re: FFI Help wrapping ObjC

Hi Paul, I installed the library and the .mid files and .sf2 files Works like a charm once I understood that not all .mid files play with all sound files. Nice to have "boing" back... It feels like a miracle, kind of, to me. And I imagine you felt the same. I am _almost_ tempted to look into ObjC an...
