Is there a performance increase for extensions/widgets

So in a performance-critical application, would it make sense to build much of the app's functionality in an extension?

I only needed it for a half hour to make my update, and then it would be back in their hands, and able to align hundreds of objects without a coffee break. Anyone know why the IDE isn't open source already? Why are we still submitting bugs with code examples instead of simply sending in an update?

Malte, I noticed the same problem while editing the alignment tools in the properties palette. At a cursory review, revCacheGeometry doesn't seem to be object-specific, so I just pulled it out of the loop and inserted it after. Instant speed, and no issues so far. Sorry, I just assumed that -- as is already (nearly) the case, the boundaries of the string are inherent delimiters. "test" would be 1 item or 1 word under all the definitions I listed.
