Re: Shell - continuous output?

It seems that open process might do what I need, building a small frame and then testing.

Shell - continuous output?

I have an awesome idea, but it would require running shell commands and continuously grabbing/displaying the output.

All I can find reference to is about running a command and returning the output, is it possible to run continuously?

Re: Searching but not finding - Programmatically create tabs

Getting the data's not a problem, just a matter of displaying, and if I'll have to build something up for that myself or if I can find something free. (At the moment it seems I'll be creating something)

Searching but not finding - Programmatically create tabs

I've been looking for info on this for a while, but I can't find it anywhere: How would I programmatically create/delete tabs?

It's for a dynamic interface, so I won't know the values of the tabs, or how many there are beforehand.

Re: Replace using variable not working

Well, it does contain at least newlines and tabs, I'll test more and let you know how it goes

Re: Replace using variable not working

Very strange.

Your result is the behavior I expect, I'll keep digging, maybe I'm doing something odd somewhere else

Replace using variable not working

I'm trying to use replace with a variable, as this: replace cb with "stuff" in fileContent cb is a variable containing a block of text taken from fileContent, I'm trying to replace that block with other stuff in the variable fileContent. But I'm getting this error: stack "main": execution error at l...

Re: Delete folder - Can't delete that folder

It's a common thing in many languages, though many of them have a specific flag to recurse and delete everything regardless.

Re: Delete folder - Can't delete that folder

And solving my own problem:
It seems the issue was that the folder was not empty, so I first loop through and delete all the files in the target folder, THEN do delete folder, and voila it works.

Delete folder - Can't delete that folder

I'm trying to delete, then create a folder to make sure that it's empty, but the result of the delete is "Can't delete this folder"

Is there a way to check for permission errors?

matchtext, return multiple matches?

I'm having trouble figuring out how to return multiple matches from matchtext.

I'm also wondering why the engine blows up on (?ig) ? (Setting regex to case insensitive and global, as per PCRE)

My regex works, built with https://www.regex101.com/ set to PCRE

Re: Call WebApp APIs?

Using webservices (APIs) is very doable in LiveCode, but you'll need a library(free) if you want to work with JSON formatted data.

I'm quite sure I've used this library in the past: https://github.com/luxlogica/easyjson

Best of luck! LC is great
