Re: Console app, output to console?

Haha that's what I get for not paying attention, thank you Richard!

Yeah I like Linux better than Windows too, but I also like lots of games on Windows, and most of my clients use it, so there's no escaping it. lol

Re: Console app, output to console?

I opened a new stack, put that in and compiled, didn't work on Windows but worked on Linux...
I swear I tried that before and it didn't work..

Thank you, FourthWorld! (Sorry, I can't remember your name, I'm horrible with names..)

Re: Console app, output to console?

Could I ask for a favor?
Can you make a .livecode file that compiles and works with outputting to the console/CLI on your computer, that I can download and look at?

Maybe I'm missing something subtle or silly, it would also let me confirm that it's me and not the LC compiler.

Re: Console app, output to console?

That doesn't work either.
I tried putting it in the card script, and the stack script, but nothing outputs.

I've tried with the last version as well as the latest version.

Console app, output to console?

I'm trying to make a console app, it'll run on linux but I'm testing on linux and windows. In the Dictionary it says that write "Stuff here" to stdout should output the text on the console, but it doesn't work (On Windows nor Linux) Tried running with -ui, and chmodded to 755 on linux. On Linux it f...

Send and receive files between applications?

Are there any built in functions for sending and receiving files between two LC applications?

I don't want to use an FTP or other intermediary storage solution.

I'm currently using sockets to communicate between LC applications but need to expand to transfer files.

Installer creator?

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend an installer creator for Linux.

I'd like to create an installer similar to that you can do on Windows, where it copies the files, creates desktop icons and start-menu icons and so on, but not having made any installer files for Linux, I thought I'd ask here.

Re: Encryption woes

I think I'm actually just going to write my server in LiveCode as well.

It'll use a MySQL database anyway, so I can easily create a web-based interface if I want to, later on, rather than using the web server by default.

It will also make it easier to distribute the client and server.

Re: Encryption woes

Reading up on this, it has to do with OpenSSL encrypting with a header.
The first 16 bytes include the header and salt.
The salt is the second set of 8 bytes in the header.

Slowly getting somewhere :)

Encryption woes

I'm trying to figure out how to transfer encrypted data to my server, have the server decrypt it and then respond. I'm using sockets and it's working fine, but I don't understand the encryption system. get "textheres" encrypt it using "aes256" with "passhere" write it & return to socket "127.0.0.1:2...

Change the title of the window?

I've looked around but not found an answer to this one.

Is it possible to change the title of a stack live?

Stream from webcamera?

I couldn't find anything on the forums, has anyone tried streaming video/audio from a webcamera from one LC client to another over sockets?

Re: Social Media Sharing, Facebook, & OAuth

No idea about a pure LiveCode implementation, but it's easy to do from a web server, so if you link your application to a webserver and of course user info, you can achieve that goal with minimal work.

Re: Deploy to AmigaOS 4.1+

I think I do pretty ok with the English language seeing as it's my second language, even though I messed up loose vs lose. This is not a forum for contacting RunRev? Then what's the whole idea with the *request* forum? To "request" features from fellow programmers rather than the company behind LC? ...
