Re: Repeat multidimensional array?

I have a bunch of these: males[1]["bob"] males[2]["marcus"] males[3]["anders"] and so on, and need to go through and grab the value of each name, but I'm not sure how to figure out how many records there are, then I believe I could just loop through the records such as repeat counter = 1 to (the mag...

Repeat multidimensional array?

I have a simple multi-dimensional array that I'm trying to repeat over. I'm trying to figure out how to create buttons from the array. It's a simple array: males[number]["name"] so nothing earthshattering there, but I can't figure out how to loop over it and pull the "name" each time. I've added to ...

Re: Stack won't open after compile

Fixed it.

Figured it out after I closed and opened the editor again, the default state of the stack is closed, so I first needed to open it.

I swear I just spent a half-hour trying to debug this, and got it just after writing for help here..

Stack won't open after compile

I have a mainstack with a few buttons on it, one of the opens another stack, it works fine in the editor, but when I compile it the button doesn't work any more.
I have *no* clue how to debug this, since it's working fine in the editor.

Re: Recommended way to save data on harddrive?

Hi Simon,

Yep seen that one, the only thing missing from it is showing how to move between record-sets, but otherwise that's an excellent tutorial.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Maybe SQLite is overkill" but I'm thinking it's perfect.

Recommended way to save data on harddrive?

I'm working on an app that will need to save data in records to a file, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to approach it. I think the best idea would be to use SQLite since the app will have many records that the user should be able to flip between, but since I haven't done anything like thi...

Re: LiveCode and the RaspberryPi

I do remember reading about how they made it build for Pi, but that could change with versions, and they're pretty good at putting out new versions (yay continuous updates)
I wonder if they've thought of making it a compiler-option, that would rock.

Re: LiveCode and the RaspberryPi

I second this, it would be absolutely awesome to be able to use and build for RPI.

I have several projects that I could use a Pi for, if I can make software for it, otherwise I'll be forced to use big hunk x86 machines.

Re: Decent and free GUI mockup tool?

Since I made this post I've come to the same conclusion. There was a period with lots of awkwardness in working with the GUI designer, before learning the little tricks that speed things up, learning about groups and what not, now I use pen and paper like I always have for first quick drafts, then I...

put url stalls on Linux?

I'm trying to put the result of a website into a variable and print on stdOut (Or to socket).
But no matter what url I enter, it stalls the whole application.
It's a commandline application (Server, no X)

Is this a known issue or am I missing something?

Re: Console app, output to console?

It's certainly cool, but a simple checkbox for CLI apps would make it even better, and then we wouldn't have to tell people to use the -ui option as default when launching the application. Besides, I think I read somewhere that LC server is not continuing? If it is, I'd be curious about it, especial...

Re: Console app, output to console?

I wish there was a compiler setting that let you compile console programs.
It would reduce size and you wouldn't need that -ui variable just to run a program.

Re: Console app, output to console?

Hey Richard, since you're a Linux guy and programmer, maybe you could help me out on this one too:
The program I'm making, I'd like it to be able to run in the background, both when run manually and on server boot, any pointers on that?

Re: Console app, output to console?

Heh, tempted to do that. lol

So now stdout works on Linux, but it still doesn't work on Windows.

That's not an issue for me, this application is for Linux only, but the Dictionary does say that it should work with Windows, so I may have stumbled on a bug in the latest rc2 release?
