App slows down with 'Wait with messages"

Hi everyone, I have created an app in which there is a timer which relies on "Wait for 1 second with messages", it counts down from 30. While this timer is running a button can also be tapped, this adds one to a variable and then displays the new number in a label, this could happen up to 6/8 times ...

Re: Android Option List

Thanks, I got that working, i must say quite a clever way to get around it! An I guessed that it might have been something such as Photoshop that you had used, and then skinned your buttons. Next, how would I the number of buttons while the app is running, so for example the user adds another item a...

Android Option List

Hi I have started developing an app which has an option list in, when just using it within development this worked fine, but when I tested it on my android phone (Samsung Galaxy Ace) it didn't seem to look good at all. I was wandering whether anyone had investigated this, maybe creating a scrollable...

Re: Specify a Datagrid cell from another card

Thanks a lot that sorted out my problems, I think the main thing was that I couldn't directly refer to data while it was in the datagrid, but I now understand how to do that quite easily.
Thanks again

Specify a Datagrid cell from another card

Hi I am trying to move the contents of a field into a datagrid which is on another card, but keep on getting errors. My current code for the line is: Put field "RecipeName" into group "RecipeGrid[1]["RecipeName"]", card "card id 1009" The error is: "button "BtnSave": execution error at line 5 (Chunk...

Re: Help! Native Scroller..

Thanks to both of your replies. I think I will probably use Klaus' solution as it requires less groups, which means that it is slightly simpler. To allow the buttons to be clickable, I assume that I would have to put in a line that checked whether it had been moved a certain distance, but how would ...

Help! Native Scroller..

Hi
I have been trying to implement a scroller for a group of buttons, and was trying the native scroller, following the lesson, but I can't get it to work. :(
I've attached my test app, so you can please check if it is an error in my coding.
Thanks

Re: Problems with scrolling on mobile

But when I got the "native" scroller working, and tested it on my Samsung Galaxy Ace I found that it wouldn't always allow me to scroll back to the top, and it seemed very slow.

Re: Problems with scrolling on mobile

I have attached 2 different sets of code. The native scroller is the one which I created from the instructions on the tutorial on the Livecode website. The "Alternative scroller" is based on a program which another user had uploaded to the forum, which can be found here: http://forums.runrev.com/vie...

Problems with scrolling on mobile

Hi I followed the livecode lesson on how to create a native scroller for mobile, however when i ran it I discovered that it was really unresponsive and it was hard to get back to the top. I was trying to scrolling a group of buttons. Can anyone provide and help with this, by suggesting a fix in the ...
