Re: Clipboard functionality for iOS and Android?

Hi Neil, thank you for your response. Unfortunately it it not very satisfying. Runrev heavily promotes the cross-platform development capabilities of LiveCode. This promise got me started with LiveCode. However, if such an essential feature as copy-and-paste is missing from cross-platform fields, yo...

Clipboard functionality for iOS and Android?

My desktop app supports copying and pasting text to and from the clipboard on a couple of cards. According to the mobile documentation and the dictionary for 6.5.2 this does not seem to be supported on mobile, both for iOS and Android. Can you confirm this? If it is true, is that planned to change, ...

Option Menu for Android?

In my app (which works on Windows, Mac, and Linux, and which I am trying to enhance to also work on iOS and Android) I use an option menu in two places to allow the user the selection between different options. This works well on computers, and for iOS it seems to be translated into a "selection whe...

Questions for Setup Q&A on 3/12

Based on the video instructions and previous experiences, I have a few questions - hope you can address them in the session. 1. For Android, what are some good AVD settings, both with regard to the Android version and the selected device? As you already mentioned in the video, v 2.2 does not work du...

Re: Provide a repository for open source livecode apps

I did "poke around" a bit, and I found it rather overwhelming.
Maybe it's because I started with LiveCode less than two month ago...
My respect to whoever coded all of this. :-)

Provide a repository for open source livecode apps

With the availability of the open source edition of LC I would expect quite a number of open source LC apps to come into existence. Each of them needs to make their source code available. It would be really nice to have one recommended/preferred location for these apps, and make it very inviting to ...

Re: Intermittent flicker with visual effect dissolve

It seems to be platform or machine dependent.
I have the flicker on my Windows 7 machine, but it doesn't happen on a Mac OS X machine.
Strange.

Re: Intermittent flicker with visual effect dissolve

It works fine for me 90% of the time, too. But then randomly there is a flicker. As I said, the transition between the same texts may work fine one time and then have a flicker the next time. Between the lock screen and unlock screen I set border color, an imageSource, and enable or disable several ...

Intermittent flicker with visual effect dissolve

I am displaying text on a card that can be changed by pressing a button, and I use the "dissolve" effect when the text is changed. I lock the screen for visual effect at the beginning of the handler that changes the text, then update the field on the card, and then unlock it with the visual effect. ...

Re: DataGrid Scrollbar Issue

It seems that the DataGrid is really picky about when you set which values. The scrollbar worked fine after setting the data before switching the scrollbar on or off. But setting the hilited line didn't work anymore, as I had it next to setting the grid data. I got that working again by putting that...

Re: Uppercase text

The switch ... end switch statement does that. Look it up in the dictionary. By the way, I also have previous coding experience, and I found the User Guide very helpful in getting a general understanding, as it describes all the basic concepts of LiveCode. You can get to it from the LiveCode Help me...

DataGrid Scrollbar Issue

I am building an app where I display a DataGrid with a list of items in a substack of the main stack. Depending on the number of items in the list and the height of the stack I turn the vertical scrollbar in the DataGrid on or off. When I turn the scrollbar on, it does not appear when I open the sub...

Re: Closing main stack and reopening from dock

Yeah, when I started writing the handler, I expected to handle more than one appleEvent, hence the switch statement.
I left it in place even though at this time I actually only needed to handle the rapp.

Re: Closing main stack and reopening from dock

By the way, the MacTech Journal has a book online: "MACINTOSH C: A Hobbyist's Guide To Programming the Mac OS in C". Chapter 10 of it explains appleEvents. Even though the book is already pretty old, I found it very helpful in getting a basic understanding of the topic. It seems I am not allowed to ...
