Re: is there a sound editor developed with runrev ?

I seem to remember playing with an old midi stack, where you could create / edit midi files, unfortunately I've forgotten where it was :( Probably this one: http://udimac.web.fc2.com/stack/tool.html Which still works fine as long as your OS has a player that supports MIDI (removed from QuickTime X,...

Re: Creating a randomizer that does not repeat picks

The examples already posted here of creating a virtual card deck(s) list, random sorting the list, and then removing items from the list so they aren't dealt again, are all very similar to the scripts in my BlackJack Stack I've been meaning to share on LiveCode Share. I was going to try to redo the ...

Re: Using image object SVG Support to display an image in a widget?

Thanks Mark, I was thinking I'd file a bug report but obviously you guys are aware of it. Admittedly, I didn't even bother to look it up in the dictionary  .

So there is text support to come in a future iteration then?

Re: Guitar Tuner?

I know this is an old post, but I'd just like to note for anyone else looking that MIDI (as in the SunnyMIDI Mac extension mentioned above), has little to nothing to do with live audio input waveform pitch analysis, which is what you would need to do in order to create a guitar tuner.

Re: Using image object SVG Support to display an image in a widget?

SVG support does not behave as expected. If there is text in the SVG with a specific font assigned to it the text is not rendered at all, whereas a web browser would substitute a different font and render it anyway. A simple work around is to create outlines in your vector illustrations for the text...

Re: [Q] Window pointer

Maybe a key has to be set in the (LiveCode IDE or Standalone) Application's plist for a certain PresentationMode so the System Knows the app can put into full-screen? Just a guess. https://developer.apple.com/library/content/documentation/General/Reference/InfoPlistKeyReference/Articles/LaunchServic...

Re: [ANN] SSRequestUserAttention

Cool Thanks! There needs to be more LCB FFI examples! Some people might not realize that this only works if LiveCode IDE or Standalone is in the background, if your stack is in the foreground then it does not do anything (nor should it). To test it just put a wait 5 secs line in front of the Request...

Re: Browser Widget & Web-Plugins

I emailed JAZZ-Plugin developer about it and to get more general info. Is there a way to tell if a Web Plug-in binary has 64bit code? (Like how you can get that info on kernel extensions with KEXT tool CLI)

Re: Browser Widget & Web-Plugins

Hmmm, that is strange because I've been working with this setup (JAZZ-Plugin in a WebKit view) for more than a year but I only recently started having problems with it in newer builds of LC9dp8+9 (since 64bit mode became the default) and even then it usually runs just fine in 32bit mode (though the ...

Re: Browser Widget & Web-Plugins

Well yes, I do mention that if the user is using the latest developer previews of LC9 on Mac OS X then they will need to "Open in 32 bit mode" (though maybe a little tutorial on exactly how to do that might help). The default on Mac OS until recent builds seems to have been 32bit mode. But shouldn't...

HyperTalk ABC Music Notation via MIDI

I've been playing around with MIDI via JavaScript in the Browser instances that utilize either WebMIDI API (in Chrome/CEF 43 and up) or a browser plug-in called Jazz-Plugin available for all platforms at http://Jazz-Soft.net for more than a year. While I was recently looking for a certain usage exam...

Browser Widget & Web-Plugins

I'm using the browser widget to execute JavaScripts that load a web-plugin on Mac OS X. I'm pretty sure the plug-in is "fat" both 32bits and 64bit, it works fine in 64bit web browsers, however it crashes when it gets called to load from the LiveCode browser widget unless I set the engine to run in 3...

HI. Did you ever find a way to call the media scanner from within live code? I'd like to do that too... Thanks. Sorry no, not yet anyway, I kind of got away from coding for awhile on holiday and then I was too busy with my day job. Starting to get that itch again now, I'll let you know if I get any...

Re: LC8DP4 LCB Guide? Possible to have a default Script

So this will allow the any default scripts to be inline within the LCB with no need for the external .livecodescript file? Also will this allow multiple alternative scripts (for example different "mouseUp" behaviors to pick from) as well? In any case this is a pretty sweet enhancement, a real time s...
