Re: google maps API

Try putting a breakpoint at the line:

put URL tURL into red

and then have a look at the var red. It should show you the response from google maps with details etc. That's assuming it recognised your inputs ok. I tried it with

Sydney,Australia
Melbourne, Australia

Have fun! :-)

Re: google maps API

The Google Maps APIs have surely changed since this example was done. I just tried it and it does get a correct response but the parsing of the returned data is no longer ok. You can easily step through the script, see the variables and determine what's wrong - and fix it hopefully!

Have fun! :-)

Re: mobile camera

Look up "cameracontrol" in the dictionary. At least in LC 8.1.7 and updated with more features in LC 9.0 DP8 (I think).

Re: Android v6 Deployment Results in Black Screen

I've also had a report of a black screen on startup - the user had a Moto G4 presumably with a newish version of Android. My app was made with LC 8.1.6 with a min version of 4.2 specified. It works fine elsewhere so not sure what the problem could be here. Any possible solutions are very welcome!

Re: Location results empty

Did you confirm that you have location services activated on your devices? Not sure what you do exactly on Android but know from past apps that sometimes people have location services turned off and don't realise it. Other than that, not sure what else to check. Can you post your app somewhere or tr...

Re: Location results empty

Try having the scripts where you start tracking also at the card level. It vaguely rings a bell that I ended up having to have them at that level and that's where all messages are sent to. Or maybe even at stack level. That's my last suggestion (I think!). :-)

cheers

Re: Location results empty

Have you tried putting in the card script:

Code: Select all

on trackingError pSensor, pError
answer "There was an error with sensor" && pSensor && pError
end trackingError
Otherwise not sure. Are there any sample stacks from Livecode that you can try? Or any other phone you can try it on?

cheers

Re: Location results empty

1 question: as the data is returned in an array, what did you do to see the data? If you just printed the variable theLocation, it will be empty. You need to look at the keys + values of theLocation (if you didn't already). e.g. put mobileSensorReading("location", true) into theLocation repeat for e...

Re: Location results empty

Did you allow a little time for the sensor tracking to start up? Start it up in on opencard and then have a button to repeatedly try to get the current location. I've found that the first time is often empty but later ones get data.... but YMMV.

Re: Pick a song

The bug was reported - did you look at the bug report? There I provided a sample stack that demonstrated the problem as well as a temporary solution - using the "Play" command. Have you tried that?

Re: Could not find plist template for device target

Thanks for the tips Dave, particularly the info from Panos, but they're all in their own sub-folders and I've had no problems over many years of building apps. XCode 6.2 appears as the result of the command xcode-select -p so that would seem fine. Or ?

cheers!
