Livecode Windows (backdrop)

Hi I have an iMac and two external monitors. Whenever I open Livecode, it always opens (and sticks) to the main window. Is it possible to get it to open on the second or third monitor. Yes I can move the app and code windows but it the sticky backdrop and inspector / code menu that sticks to the mai...

Re: setting the focus with keyboard property on a field

To be honest, it is the forums which to me are the saving grace of the product. People are always willing to chirp in with what they have found (or know) and I am always deeply grateful for any person who contributes to the support of the product. Without the community, the product would be somethin...

Re: setting the focus with keyboard property on a field

Hi I do agree with the IDE bug issue. It 'feels' that the structure is likely to come tumbling down at any moment. The software 'feels' almost amateurish and unsupported as there are so many niggles that just don't quite work. I have had several bugs open for years. Examples. 1. Multiple monitor sup...

revigniter issue

I have just taken the plunge into LC server. I purchased a server hosting plan from LC and downloaded and installed revigniter. The install process is dead simple BUT it does not work. I am getting an error of file "/home/asirta/public_html/index.lc" file "/home/asirta/public_html/system/revigniter/...

Re: Getting started on LiveCode server

Cool. Now we are getting somewhere. I checked out the lesson on sockets and the examples look workable. I can translate that into meaning and my own code. This means I know how to write the backend and the interconnect to the front end. Excellent. So, my last challenge is the web front end. I have s...

Re: Getting started on LiveCode server

Thanks. Really appreciate the steer. I will go and investigate. (At least I have some bread crumbs to follow now) :D :D :D :D :D :D Maybe I will need to write my own.. Bugger. Ok. So. To a slightly different question. Communication between stacks. Is there an 'elegant' method to pass messages betwee...

Re: Getting started on LiveCode server

Hi peoples I really appreciate the time you spend on answering my questions. So. I think I need to be clear about what I am thinking. I have written apps, BUT they no longer suit the needs and need to be disregarded in the context of the move to a portal version of the software. Very useful LC codin...

Getting started on LiveCode server

HI I have written a number of apps in LC for Windows, Mac and iOS. All good and they work nicely. I now need to make a web portal equivalent of those apps. I am not a web developer so I was thinking the best way to tackle it was to have the GUI as one component and an 'engine block' that would do th...

Re: Getting started with a web application

Ok. I will try to answer the question is a clearer way. The goal is to build a web portal which will offer similar functionality to the standalone applications already written. The standalone application allows an organisation to profile it's legal and regulatory compliance against a database of law...

Re: Getting started with a web application

The application would hold a dataset and a number of workflows. The user can log in can access their own organisation's data to view or edit, based on their delegated permissions. The user is able to update their data set and a snapshot will be taken to provide a 'snapshot' of progress. I am unclear...

Getting started with a web application

Hi Peoples. I have been writing apps for Windows, Mac and iOs for a few years now and have (finally) got the hang of it. My code no longer completely sucks. I cringe at some of my old code and frequently it is easier to re-write chunks, than attempt to fix it. This is not an issue as my skills have ...

Re: Resetting IDE window

Thanks Craig. It is so weird. It was just gone! No evidence of it left.

I decided to re-install. No luck
I reset all preferences back to default. That fixed it.

Resetting IDE window

Hi All
My IDE script window has gone weird. I can still edit scripts but the bottom pane that normally shows variable, errors etc has just gone. I have just one massive code editor window.

Has anyone experienced this before and know how to get it back?

THanks
Matt
