Re: Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) on Android and iOS

Hi...i am a new user here. In my case I need a way to connect one device with other. The idea is to transfer a little amount of data, and, if possible, perhaps a file with about 10-20Kbyts.Can your plugging allow to connect 2 devices , that run the very same lua application, and can send/receive in...

Re: No new customProperties?

Back in the old days we didn't have custom property sets. Curious if you remember (approximately) when they did get introduced, Jacque? I know they existed in Mc 2.5 (before it went Oss). I'll be looking through my copy of Hypercard later today...but you could save me a bunch of time hahah. Sorry, ...

Re: No new customProperties?

If one asks for the "customPropertySets" in a new control, you only get "cRevGeneral", even though there seems to be a default set called "customKeys". Back in the old days we didn't have custom property sets. After they were introduced, custom sets had names and the default set name is empty. So u...

Re: FormatForPrinting

I haven't had to print in years but the last time I did it was to a substack. I set the formatForPrinting to true before opening the stack and it worked. So I don't think "in memory" is accurate since substacks are always in memory. The important part is to set it before the stack is actually render...

Re: Assigning a keyboard shortcut to a button

Mac, iOS, and Android don't use underlining in menus or buttons, it's just a Windows thing. I'm not sure about Linux.

Re: Open a LC document using a standalone

Is the standalone for desktop or mobile? Are you including the LC stack in the Copy Files pane of the standalone settings or do you add it later? Or does the user choose a file to open? A full file path will always work but getting that path will vary depending on how you've set up the standalone an...

Re: FullScreenMode For Mobile

4) The "showAll" setting for fullScreenMode seems best for portrait. Unused border width taking the backgroundColor of the stack or card is a nice undocumented feature. Does scaling down to a smaller target mobile device really crop off-screen border width? Doesn't seem very "showAll". In general, ...

Interesting read, and I especially liked the video, quite the treat to see young Kevin playing with HC.
The video was made just recently and that isn't really Kevin. But the story is true.

Re: Deployment issues. Differences between IDE, PC and Android

If you need those messages, you will probably have better luck using native field widgets in LC 9. They do respond to open/closefield messages and there is less scripting, too. Just drag one to your stack. They won't work on desktop but they do in mobile.

Re: Chaining multiple revPrintField's into one PDF

You do understand the issue. I've been giving this some thought since I originally posted and arrived at a few options: One is a separate "report stack" idea with one card having one field; let's call it "field1". I've formatted the field to match the formatting of the source fields (each of which ...

Re: TreeView instability and fixing an extension

The older IDEs tend to handle the whole process far more gracefully than the newest versions do. To me, that is just mind boggling. Not so much when you know the history. MetaCard, LiveCode's predecessor, was originally written for *nix and the developer worked entirely in that platform. The first ...

Re: Compare two lists (comparing fontName before/after)

No worries, I'm sorry too but it was worth a look. Definitely not your fault, and I may try later to see if I can find a workaround.
