Re: Minimum Android Version is not selectable on Pref.

You don't need a signing key if you aren't going through the Play Store, though if you do distribute your work it helps to identify you as the developer. But it isn't required.

For APKs without a signing key just choose to sign for development only, and LC will create a generic key instead.

Re: Minimum Android Version is not selectable on Pref.

I see. Did you create a signing key? If so it's probably incorrect in some way. If not, that's probably the corruption. Choose "sign for development only" in the Android settings for now. If you decide to release on the Play Store you'll need a verified developer key later. Does your app need access...

@bogs, you can just use the "launch" command.

Re: Embed An EXE File Within Application

What Klaus posted does what you want. It stores the binary exe file data in a custom property of the stack. When you want to use the exe you have to write it to disk, which is what the "spit out" part does. Then you can launch it. It is not possible to run the binary exe data until it's in its own f...

Re: Minimum Android Version is not selectable on Pref.

I had a similar problem with the Android installer using LC 9dp11 but when I tried it a second time it worked. You could try a rebuild. The LC team could not reproduce the issue and we closed the bug report. I did not get a corruption message, the installer just hung. Did you select the right permis...

Re: Minimum Android Version is not selectable on Pref.

The minimum version is the lowest version the app can use. The Play Store will not show the app to users who run OS versions lower than the minimum. But devices with newer OS versions can run the app, so setting the minimum does not affect newer devices. The corruption isn't because of the version, ...

Re: Coding an Update Functionality for an LC App ?

The Play Store has automatic update mechanisms but if you plan to distribute outside the store, the easiest way to do it is to put a plain text file on a server that contains the latest version number. On launch your app checks that file to see if its own version is different from the one in the tex...

Re: Export snapshot at size not working correctly on Linux

I'm not sure why it would do that on Linux but I notice the export size dimensions are reversed from the original dimensions. Maybe the Linux engine is getting confused.

Re: File Transfer - JPG

URL "binfile:c:\windows\temp\ScreenShot.jpg" The slashes point the wrong way, for one thing. LC only uses forward slashes in file paths. Also, you probably know this, but if the app is going to be built for Android, you can't use hard coded paths like that. You may need to add some parentheses to t...

You can use hexadecimal for colors, just be sure to put the hash sign before the hex.

Re: Saving data on Android

The cache folder is not permanent. Data will remain until the OS does housekeeping, or the user clears the cache to regain disk space. You can't rely on those files being there, the cache is meant for temporary data. The documents folder is permanent and never cleared until the user uninstalls the a...

Re: ASK Command Return Button means "OK"

From the looks of it, the script is using the built-in Ask dialog on Android, which isn't editable.

Re: Android browser is slow

The layermode does not apply to the content of the browser widget, so setting it to dynamic won't help much. Layermode only affects objects that move, and the widget itself is stationary. I haven't seen what you describe so I'm not sure why you would see lag. You could do a test with a plain stack c...

Re: ASK Command Return Button means "OK"

I haven't tried it, but an Answer dialog may work since it doesn't have an editable field.

Re: Simple splash screen issue

When the prefs modal stack opens, preOpenStack and preOpenCard messages are sent, which your mainstack catches and executes the splash display. Do what Craig suggested and move the preOpen-whatever handler to the first card of the mainstack where it won't be triggered by any other stacks.
