Re: Exporting standalone

I just noticed that you don't have Java installed, or at least LC can't find it. You need to install Java 8.x. https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html There's more info here: http://lessons.livecode.com/m/2571/l/27385-how-do-i-become-an-android-developer-...

Re: Exporting standalone

You need the command line tools. I don't use Studio but I believe it has that option in a popdown menu. Did you download those?

Re: Exporting standalone

Where did you save the SDK on your computer? On my Mac the folder name is "android-sdk-macosx" and that's what I selected. If you are on Windows I assume the folder will be similarly named.

Also, did you download only the commandline tools, or did you download Android Studio?

Re: LiveCode Multi-Search

I see why the Resources List button wasn't updating, the created file is never closed. This fixes it: open file tFile put "LiveCode Super Site,http://livecodesupersite.com/" & return into tResourcesList put "LiveCode Cheat Sheets,https://livecode.com/resources/cheat-sheets/" & return after tResource...

Re: LiveCode Multi-Search

I just had a chance to look at the update. Here's a couple of feedback things. On OS X, the Resouces List button doesn't do anything and doesn't show a menu. Pulldowns are mostly intended for system menus on Macs, an option button might work better (and wouldn't need the background graphic.) At any ...

Re: Help! Stranger situation in Android Audio recorder

Also, when you edited the manifest, did you do it after the standalone was built? It is better to make a copy of the default manifest, edit it, and put it into the Copy Files pane of standalone settings. LC will use your custom manifest instead of its own default one. The dictionary says the correct...

Re: learn transcript

You know, I haven't read the language section of the user guide. I just scanned it and it's a pretty good summary of how the language works. There are some typographical errors and omissions that might cause beginners a problem but basically it's well done. I agree, try the scripting conferences and...

Re: Button highlite not switching icons on iOS

A hack to redraw the screen:

Code: Select all

set the backcolor of this cd to the backcolor of this cd
I don't think that's the problem but it's worth a try. What are the IDs of the icon images that don't update?

Re: Button highlite not switching icons on iOS

Yeah, that's crazy behavior. Icon image IDs can be the problem in some cases. Try setting the IDs if the icon images to something huge, above 50,000 and see what happens. There may be something in the iOS build that conflicts with low numbers.

Does the original script check for errors and report them? You may get a hint if you add some answer dialogs after relevant commands to report the result of it isn't empty.

Re: Make group invisible after loosing focus - Solved

If the calculator group has clickable buttons you'll probably need to put a blocking, empty mouseDown handler in the group too, since the card script handler doesn't check that.

Re: LiveCode just shows white window on startup

If you save the files in LC 8, will they then open in LC 9? I'm thinking there was a problem converting the files from an older format, and you can use LC 8 to make the transition.

Re: unicode ?

Reading and writing from/to a field is one of the slowest operations LC does. If the OP is going to have hundreds of entries, adding an imageSource directly into the field for each line could get pretty slow. It would be more efficient to write the field's htmltext in a variable and set the content ...

Re: Remote debugger issue

I only know that it creates a socket between the LC copy on the computer and the standalone on the device. That enables it to communicate whether or not the device is cabled to the machine. It doesn't use the cable, presumably communication travels over the LAN. I'm not sure whether the system setti...

Re: Make group invisible after loosing focus - Solved

I thought the focus commands worked that way too but the dictionary refers to keyboard access only.
