Re: set the defaultfolder to USB drive

Have you tried accessing a USB drive from a mobile device? The last time I tried it you need special hardware adapters and software, at least on Android. I'm not sure how iOS handles it.

Re: Weather

A browser will always be on top and can't be cropped, it will always display the full content of the HTML it contains. The solution is to edit out the parts of the HTML you don't want. The images you posted aren't weather related, so I'm not sure if that is content you want to preserve or just an ex...

Re: Cannot enter data in field

Well, the behavior sounds like a field with traversalOn set to false, so I'd check those. If the fields are in a group, check the traversalOn of the group. And if that's not it, check the traversalOn of the stack itself. Somewhere in the object hierarchy, traversalOn seems to be set to false. I'm be...

Re: Buttonlabel/Textfield Size of text on Tablet is different

If you have not assigned a font to the stack or to individual controls, LC uses the system font which is different on every OS. If you did assign a font and the OS doesn't have that font, then it also falls back to the system font. You can either assign a font that exists on all platforms (there are...

Re: Restore decent looking controls?

I wouldn't mind retreating, say, 18 months or so... Anyway, if the stack is just for you then none of that matters. Make the buttons any way you want. :)

Re: Restore decent looking controls?

These buttons are drawn by the OS, and anyone who uses that OS will not be surprised by the appearance. In fact, if you really do want the button to act as a default (respond to the return key) then you'll confuse users if the button doesn't look like the standard. If you were just using the default...

Re: Cannot enter data in field

Does the stack have any frontscripts? Are there any controls, hidden or not, either over or under the field? Is it in a group?

Do a script search for "traversalon" and see if you get any hits.

Re: Restore decent looking controls?

Wouldn't it be easier to just turn off the Default property on the buttons?

Re: Delete Card in LC 9 problem

Your way is good too. I suspect the IDE is trying to make things "easier" for us by managing running scripts itself. The IDE uses frontscripts, which intercept messages before your own scripts get them.

Re: IOS Deployment -- Lots of questions!

A LC IOS app is, by definition, a standalone. Right? That's right. A standalone cannot “self-modify”; in other words, you can not input (or save only?) new data into it. (When you re-launch the app, it will be in the same, previous, original state.) Right? You can input or change anything, but it w...

Re: Delete Card in LC 9 problem

If you think the clock is the problem, remove it before deleting the card. I assume it's placed on every card, so something like this:

Code: Select all

remove group "clock" from this card
delete this card

Re: Play (audioClip) delay / hang

If you use a player you can preload it with the "prepare" command. It was introduced to prevent delays.

Re: Stop user pressing Enter in entry field

Alternately, size the height of the field to hold only one line and set the autotab of the field to true in the property inspector.

Re: Having an issue using replace and Item number

That's actually a good way to do it, since some early benchmarking a while back showed that creating a new list is faster than modifying the old one. It's probably still true.
