Re: Saving data on Android

The cache folder is not permanent. Data will remain until the OS does housekeeping, or the user clears the cache to regain disk space. You can't rely on those files being there, the cache is meant for temporary data. The documents folder is permanent and never cleared until the user uninstalls the a...

Re: ASK Command Return Button means "OK"

From the looks of it, the script is using the built-in Ask dialog on Android, which isn't editable.

Re: Android browser is slow

The layermode does not apply to the content of the browser widget, so setting it to dynamic won't help much. Layermode only affects objects that move, and the widget itself is stationary. I haven't seen what you describe so I'm not sure why you would see lag. You could do a test with a plain stack c...

Re: ASK Command Return Button means "OK"

I haven't tried it, but an Answer dialog may work since it doesn't have an editable field.

Re: Simple splash screen issue

When the prefs modal stack opens, preOpenStack and preOpenCard messages are sent, which your mainstack catches and executes the splash display. Do what Craig suggested and move the preOpen-whatever handler to the first card of the mainstack where it won't be triggered by any other stacks.

Re: Tool change shortcut

Another issue is interference with the IDE's contextual menus. A keyboard combination is safer.

Re: SVG Icon Tool

I wonder if you should run the resize handler on all the cards at once on resizeStack. If you resize the window on card 1, for example, and then go to the grid, it hasn't updated.

Having much fun with this. :)

Re: Mobile Scroll vs Web Browser control

What are those three? And if we can I identify them, could the engine? I was referring to the three types of layermodes, and I should have said there were only two, since the third is "static" and is the default. The other two, dynamic and scrolling, have to be set by the developer since the engine...

Re: SVG Icon Tool

Found a minor bug, do you want reports here? I immediately installed into my Plugins folder and if the stack isn't toplevel, up/down arrow keys on the grid card throw a "can't find object" error (since the stack isn't toplevel.) It just needs a more specific reference to the family button. There may...

Re: SVG Icon Tool

Oh marvelous! It's pretty much perfect from where I sit, all my quibbles have been addressed. The resizing, especially of the grid, works great, which I'm sure was a little tricky to manage. I had no idea there were so many SVG families to choose from, this is a designer's dream. Thanks so much for ...

Re: Mobile Scroll vs Web Browser control

Why isn't acceleratedRendering on by default? How many developers get up in the morning and say, "Today I want to build an app with slow rendering!"? ;) Probably because if there are no moving objects on the card it isn't needed and I assume would do unnecessary scanning for potential buffering. I'...

Re: Mobile Scroll vs Web Browser control

In addition to the layermode you also need to set the acceleratedRendering of the stack to true in a preOpenStack or preopencard handler.

If you aren't saving the file then the icon shouldn't change. How are you opening it? Did you try opening for read-only?

Re: Set File Icon?

So you're writing the file back to disk? There may be a shell call that will do it, since the user can assign a default app in the Get Info box in Finder, but I don't know what it might be. You may be able to find something with a Google search.
