Re: Not declaring Local Variables and script works ! why declaring them then ?

Jacque and I have had this running argu^H^H^Hdiscussion for years now. :P I *always* declare my variables. Yes, even within functions, and I have 'strict variable checking' enabled to catch me if I forget one. I believe in letting the compiler do what it was designed to do instead of doing the work...

I sent you a PM, Lagi. I'm not sure the file is worth anything but you can try it.

Re: FINDING THE ANDROID SDK

I have an old (2011) version of the SDK but it's for Mac. It's bare-bones and requires downloading all the relevant files, and I'm not sure they are still available. But I do have it if you're on a Mac.

Re: Not more the 8 widgets in Android possible?

Submit a bug report. All crashes are high priority. The LC team will also be able to tell you if there is a workaround.

Re: Not declaring Local Variables and script works ! why declaring them then ?

Script local variables have been described. Variables used only in a single handler do not need to be declared. There are two main reasons why you might want to declare them in a handler: When explicit variable checking is turned on, typos or undeclared variables will produce a script error. This pr...

Re: FINDING THE ANDROID SDK

To go back to the "old" way without using Android Studio, go here: https://developer.android.com/studio/index.html Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to where it says "Get just the command line tools". Download for your OS, delete Studio, and install the tools. I never downloaded Stud...

Re: Test button greyed out?

OK, Java 8 installed and android bits included, but TEST still greyed out and simulator still will not produce a working apk. The apk produces a parsing erroe on device. The app (at this stage) is just the stack and a picture. It sounds like you can't use the test button but you can build an apk, r...

Re: This app can't run on your PC

It could be a permissions problem. In the Windows pane in standalone settings, choose to run the app with the highest permissions the user is allowed.

Re: Hyphenation of long words

If you know ahead of time what words will need hyphenation, a custom dictionary of only the long words would be the fastest way. Put those into an array for quick lookup. A dictionary of all words in the language would be huge, but I don't see any other choice if you don't know what text will be dis...

Re: are there attempts to develop a revBrowser compatible with Linux ?

livecodeall wrote "I believe revBrowserOpenCEF is supported on Linux from LiveCode 8" If I should follow that track, how can I get hold of such an external ? -and script its use ? Before widgets, we had to script browser integration manually. These commands are part of LC and you can find revBrowse...

I wouldn't think so, but I'm not sure how Apple is doing these things today. Could it be that the original profile had expired?

Re: Why am I seeing this?

Can you shed light on this feature (Navigation Bar) because it is not mentioned in any guides I have looked up. Widgets are listed in the dictionary under their own names. At the upper left is a popdown button set to "LiveCode script" by default. You can change that to view information about LC Bui...
