Convert Colored Image to B&W

Greetings, Way back in October, I was working on a stack for the Special Education student in my classroom. I got it to the point where he could work on it and I could adjust add things on as he improved. Now he is leaving me and going into an all-day Special Ed class where he will be much happier. ...

Re: Only LiveCode?

So far, the very supportive members of this forum have continued to answer my revMedia questions. I allow myself to believe that won't change.

Re: How to pick selection in a field?

I have been following this thread with interest and confusion. Do you have a bit of a stack to show upload (as a zip file)? Do you have, perhaps a screenshot of what it looks like?

Cheers,

Re: The Spelling Game (WIP)

It is time for an update. My tiny stack has ballooned to 4.5 mb and is about to go on a diet, but it is at a good working point where Thomas can use it every day without my needing to add or tweek anything, and I can copy it to my flash drive to take home to check on his activity for his session tha...

Re: how to add cards

I was so excited when I saw this topic because I thought that I would finally be able to help someone else and contribute to the community. However, when I saw that it was a question about LiveCode, I didn't dare, because I suddenly thought that maybe you guys had moved the New Card out of the Objec...

Re: Coloring an Image

Thanks! I understand why you wrote it the way you did, as you can't see the bloated critter that is my stack and would have no idea how the image gets there in the first place. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to have any unintended consequences if I deviated from it. There is no other way ...

Re: Coloring an Image

Bernd, Please, never be reluctant to add new information for me or another reply to one of my old threads. Not only to they pop back up to the top, but I check them frequently to remind myself what was said. I will always see the post. :) Heavens, I look for them! The responsiveness of this group al...

Re: Timing an Event (seconds, trunc, mod, format [charLength])

Thanks very much, Dixie! I never would have thought to look up "mod," or that changing the delimiter could be so powerful, two very important lessons at exactly the time that they made sense. That took care of one of the if/then statements (I still needed the other to be able to insert the ":" and h...

Timing an Event

This is the first little script that I have written all by myself. I know there are lots of ways to make a timer, but all of those seems to be for situations where you want to actually see the timer happening. I just want to figure out how long it takes a student to play the game. That I couldn't fi...

Re: Old Hypercard User Hoping This Will Let Me Do What I Used To

Dear Hyperactive, Thank you for the kind post! When I used Hypercard all those many years, pounds, and gray hairs ago, it was already being abandoned. I don't even remember how I found the program, but there was no documentation and I had to scrounge for information. My little stack for spelling was...

Re: Odd Things Happening to my Stacks

Dixie, It was as you said, 'variable checking' had been selected. I'm sure I must have checked it by accident. That will teach me to go poking around menus I don't understand! I am so glad it was something so simple. I was terrified my RevMedia had been corrupted! I don't know what I would have done...

Re: Copy CSV files to Excel?

lol, well, I had a go at it and failed miserably. I couldn't figure out how to import the csv file to begin with. I know it is obvious to everyone else, but, well, not so obvious the first time you try. I looked up about opening and reading files in the dictionary and couldn't get it to make sense f...

Copy CSV files to Excel?

As you all know by now, I've been getting my feet wet with RunMedia, and now I know just enough to be excited and dangerous at the same time. At school, we are entering the results of a very important test into a page on the internet. (The state IS going to get the results back to us eventually, but...

Odd Things Happening to my Stacks

The strangest things have begun to happen to my stacks. All of a sudden, it can't set any of my temporary variables, even those I use for only one thing. It demands that I declare every one of them as a local variable at the top of the card, and it didn't care at all before. Also, everything needs q...

Re: Execution Error

Aaaaaaaaaah! Thank you! That was indeed the problem. I had manually changed the number back to 2 because every time I run through the game to check out my newest additions, it increases the level. I will make a button to do that now, and will be aware of the possibility of that same error in the fut...
