Re: Garage Band Files don't get listed

I opened Garage Band for the first time ever (Mac OS 10.7.5) and save a file called "test" to my desktop. I ended up with 2 files; "test.band" and "test" (no suffix). Neither of them were listed (LC 8.1.8). The answer to this is that "test.band" and "test" are NOT files, but folders in the same way ...

rawKey signals

While you may be using a Persian keyboard layout connected to a computer running Windows XP I am using a US English keyboard layout connected to a computer running Macintosh 10.7.5: which is super when we want to type in languages with which we are familiar. It is not so super when we want to develo...

Re: Hyphenation of long words

it's very close to a good hyphen
Well, as we know, all good programmers go to "Hyphen"

while bad programmers have to make a dash for it 8)

Re: Hyphenation of long words

I love the idea of using linguistic rules to do it Well: 1. As a computer doesn't speak a language, but does follow rules . . . 2. My first master's degree is in Linguistics, so . . . If by: to "buffer" all the syllables beforehand you mean to store a database of ALL possible syllables in whichever...

Re: Hyphenation of long words

This will be completely language-specific. The first thing you are going to need is a routine to determine if a letter is a consonant is a vowel or a consonant . . . I assume you have a word in a fld called "fVOX", and you have a fld called "fINDX" repeat until fld "fVOX" is empty put char 1 of fld ...

Re: is a color

If one does something like this: set the backGroundColor of graphic "MyShape" to 255,255,1000 it sets the backGroundColor of graphic "MyShape" to 255,255,235 for the rather obvious reason that 1000 - (3 x 255) = 235 This does not, however , explain why one ended up with 255,255,1000 in the first pla...

Re: Maybe Worth A Look If You're Building Games

I think almost any tool can do almost anything, depending on - a. your determination b. your imagination. Indeed. However there are other factors that can slow this sort of thing down such as other things pressing on one's precious time. If we all had 24 hours a day without sleeping, eating, going ...
