Re: Apps not opening

How about running your stack on either Linux or Macintosh: if it runs on one of those systems you know the problem is with your Windows set up, if it does not run then the problem is somewhere in your stack. You could also try building a Windows standalone on Linux and seeing if that will run on Win...

Re: Converting from VB6 programming language

Very odd indeed. I worked with VB 5 during a Masters course and used to go home every night and reduplicate each exercise in RunRev; which served 2 purposes: 1. The exercises were great for improving my RunRev skills. 2. I'd not go near VBA or VB 5 with a ten foot pole after I'd finished my Masters....

Re: Converting from VB6 programming language

https://twinbasic.com/
The twinBASIC programming language can import VB6 code
That sounds useful as far as it goes: but, presumably it cannot then convert it into LiveCode.

Windows only.

This is not 'converting' as originally mentioned in this thread, it is just a continuation of VBA6.

You could try the last Open Source version: LiveCode Community 9.6.3.

Re: Is a good idea?

LiveCode is extremely easy to understand up to a certain level, and because you get almost instant feedback this also makes things easier than C.

Robots are a bit like car-jacks: very useful for changing wheels: just so long as you know how to use the car-jack.

Re: Hiding The Keyboard.

Unlike some people I did not jump to conclusions, and spent far too much time attempting to hide a MacOS on-screen keyboard:

As that floats over every LC stack and palette I suspect it cannot be done.

Re: Hiding The Keyboard.

Do you mean the on-screen keyboard on a phone, or one on a computer screen?

Re: Can You do this?

Like I said, I really could not care less what you choose to do.

I was just pointing out the error in your statement
If you don't care why did you bother to point something out.

I am perfectly capable of working out what's logical and what isn't.

Re: Can You do this?

You are right, that does invalidate that argument. If one wants to be picky about logic. - aGreekPerson.jpg - BUT, there is one thing that you forget about xTalk in general, and LiveCode more specifically, and that is that there is absolutely no reason to be dogmatic about almost everything, and tha...

Re: Can You do this?

You really didn't read, or at least comprehend Read it, and I comprehended it perfectly well, but as I was fixated on mucking around with the in-built ask and answer dialogues I brushed it aside. 8) You tie your hands behind your back I am both kinky and masochistic. :D the entire layout has to be ...
