Re: Is livecode dead?

Am I the only lost with livecode roadmap? Well, I for one wonder why you would use that for any type of navigation whatsoever. When new features are integrated into LiveCode that's jolly nice, and I often have some fun tinkering around with them. The road map is what it is, and that is a list of IN...

Re: Children's Education App for Measuring with a Ruler

Well, then, the first thing you need to lay your hands on is an SVG
greyscale ruler which you can import as a widget . . .

Then set up rotation handed and have the windowshape of the stack
continually changed to one of a series of images with masks.

Re: Deprecation of numToChar()

What -hh says is much more sensible, and less fiddly, than what I suggested. 8)

Re: Children's Education App for Measuring with a Ruler

It would be dead easy to run up a "ruler" that could be dragged around a screen. It would NOT be easy to then run up a "ruler" combined with something that allowed an end-user to "draw" dots, lines and so on on the desktop. Personally I would run up a vertical and a horizontal "ruler" implemented as...

I'm not entirely sure if this will help: it's something I dreamt up during

Re: Break Script editor into halves?

No: you are not the only one.

With all the buttons in my Devawriter containing about 6,000 lines of code any way to have multiple views would be magic.

Ripping Off Android Interfaces

A High School chap who studies EFL with me and was subverted into LiveCode by me in the Summer has a competition "thingy" he is doing at his school, but is, frankly, cheesed-off with both C++ and C# as he can see that many, many things can be done rather faster in LiveCode. He is also a very talente...

Re: Is livecode dead?

a presumption that the company isn't doing obvious things One of the reasons for this presumption maybe due to the fact that LiveCode keep bandying about the word "Community" in such a way that members of that "Community" imagine that means LiveCode should be telling that "Community" more about its...

Re: Is livecode dead?

Richard, Thanks for taking the time to address each of my points. #1 isn't done because it would of course be without value I wonder: at least it might stop LiveCode feeling a bit unstable and continually mucking around with their pricing strategy and their website. the role of a sort of liaison bet...

Why isn't LiveCode being adopted much more than it is?

since many of the changes they undertake are in response to user suggestions. RIGHT! (Yes, that is in capitals as it is meant as the equivalent of a shout) Then LiveCode have 2 options: 1. Ignore any user suggestions: and explicitly state that they are not interested in user suggestions. What's the...
