Re: Devawriter Pro

Just as I gear up for an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds to continue to develop my Devawriter Pro I have released version 2.4.2:

Re: Mucking around in Chicago

Right: I'm "back in da hood" and salivating about JAMMER KEYBOARDS and THEREMINS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theremin Obviously (!), to make anything going in that direction (Theremin) I need to be able to: 1. Generate a note (or, possibly, leverage an embedded sound). 2. adjust PITCH and FREQUENC...

Re: Mucking around in Chicago

Oddly enough I was able to copy the LC 9 executable onto the iMac's desktop, but got this on launch:

Aha: running macOS 10.8.5

Installed LC 8.1.9 to the desktop (user acc. setup to prevent people like me installing to Apps folder).

Working

Mucking around in Chicago

-- HEY, THAT CAUGHT YOUR ATTENTION -- So, here I am in the Windy City, and using an iMac in a shared common room in a condo where my friends stay: downloading LC 9: whether this Mac will actually let me install the thing has yet to be seen. However, on a long flight from Warsaw to JFK I had a weird ...

Re: Our Klaus

Klaus and I have a dead kinky relationship: its a sort of co-dependency relationship:

he educates me, and I annoy him. 8)

especially by continually mistyping his name as 'Kalus'. :D

Re: commercial or Community versions?

As far as I understand you CAN sell stuff made with the Community (Free)
version, but:

1. There is no way you can lock your code, so people can see, copy and "steal" it.

2. You have to make the stacks (i.e. before you made the standalone) available.

Re: My Stupid code 1

shrink proportionally the second in order to fit as much possible inside the first Do you want the second to be the same size as the first one or smaller? Anyway, although the code offerings before this are very clever, in my opinion they are a bit over-complicated. Scaler.jpg https://www.dropbox.c...

Re: Imitation Game

Maybe he'll consider LiveCode Community Edition. I'm not trying to sell LiveCode to the HyperNext chap. He has his own reasons for doing what he's doing. What I am doing is suggesting using his demonstration projects he has made in HyperNext as learning exercises in LiveCode . Also, if he uses Live...

Re: Imitation Game

it runs RBScript
It does: a very old, antiquated version that was legit. to use in this way.

I had a discussion with the chap who made/makes HyperNext
about 4-5 years ago and he said he wasn't sure whether to stick
with the old version of Real BASIC or transition to something else.

If you go to the HyperNext webpage: http://www.tigabyte.com/default.html You can download HyperNext for either Macintosh or Windows free of charge. You can also download a large number of sample projects: HyperNextprojects.png A wonderful way of learning how to do a few useful things in LiveCode wou...
