Re: Is Quartz Down?

Thanks -- it turned out that my IP address was blacklisted for some reason. Robin took care of it and everything's working again.

Re: Is Quartz Down?

Thanks for checking, Matthias.

Weird! I still can't reach that same address; it just spins and spins for me. Can you tell me the raw IP address for quartz? Maybe it's my DNS...

Re: Control of Text Fields

Great stack, Roger! I know I'm kind of late to the party, but just FYI you can also use the type command for entering the numbers (an oldie, but a goodie): -- Modifying your behavior script on mouseUp type (the label of me) end mouseUp Also, for the "Del" button, I think this simple script would wor...

Re: Is learning LiveCode worth it from jobs perspective?

I strongly echo what Richard said, but I understand completely where you're coming from. LiveCode has been around for a long time (and under other names - Revolution, and earlier, MetaCard), and like Richard, I've been using this code base since the mid-1990's. LiveCode jobs (at least for me) tend t...

Re: Delete Stack Different in LiveCode 6?

I opened that fine stack "Signing Assistant" by Obleo Bleck, who must be known to all who struggle with getting our LC apps submitted to the Mac App Store, and when I tried to modify and save the script, I found all sorts of things that now throw errors but didn't when he so kindly wrote it. For ex...

Re: mergDataGridScroller / SOT DropTool and LC Community

DropTool appears as "corrupt" in LC Community, likely due to the fact the DTSecurity sub-stack is encrypted. That's correct... 2.) Any advice on using DropTools with LiveCode Community? I have a "beta" version of DT that works with LC Community that I could send you if you are interested... send me...

Re: Delete Stack Different in LiveCode 6?

I've used "delete stack" in 6.1.1 with no issues... Is it possible your stack is not open at the time the command is executed? If it is actually open, can you show us the complete line of code that you're executing (in context if you can) so we can review it?

Re: Display Multidimensional Array

I use this function to dump a multidimensional array to text: function stsExamineArray pArray,pArrayName if pArrayName = "" then put "<root>" into pArrayName put "==> NOTE: Passing name of array in 2nd param will replace <root> <=="&cr into tList else put "" into tList end if _stsGatherKeys pArray,p...

Re: Checking a string for spaces

If I have a filename called "The movie.mov" contained in a string say tFilename and I want the movie player to play that file without error?. FYI: If you're working with a full path to the file, and you're using Windows, you can use the shortFilePath function, which returns an 8.3 formatted file pa...

There's also the iPhone Control Kit. Has a lot of controls, but is a bit more hands-on than MobGUI.

ANN: DropTools 1.2

I've just released and upgrade to the DropTools Palette; version 1.2 has a few bug fixes in it plus tighter integration with the LiveCode IDE, allowing you to display the Inspector palette for various DropTools by option-double-clicking a control or through the right-click (or control-click) context...

stsProgBar 1.2 Released - Now supporting Lion!

Hey all! With Apple releasing Lion yesterday, they changed the look and feel of virtually every control in the OS, including the "intermediate progress bar" (barber pole). This is why I've upgraded stsProgBar to 1.2 to support the new Lion interface; if you're interested you can get more info at thi...

Sorry for the double-post, but I discovered that although the full download was updated to 1.1, the "check for updates" one wasn't... So to anyone who ran the update before you read this post: if you check the "About DropTools Palette" and it doesn't say "1.1", please do another "Check for Updates" ...

stsRating DropTool

I'm happy to be able to announce the release of the stsRating DropTool, a general purpose rating and choice selection control. It can be used for a "star" rating system, to display a thermometer, to create linear gauges or bars, or even used in questionnaires to have the user make a selection from a...
