Re: iOS Modal Alert Description
Howdy - I got a similar message - but this one was for not explaining why my app needed access to the camera. Seems as if Apple reviewers are not being consistent in regards to this issue - never had the problem before. I would, however, appreciate some guidance as to how to edit my app's plist. I t...

Re: BMI Calculator Example in iOS simulator
You might also want to check the "Settings" app while running the simulator. There's an option (sorry, I don't remember where just now) that asks whether or not you want the simulator to have network connectivity (or something like that). In the past, checking that option has been a big help. Peace....

Re: mouseDoubleUp not working properly for iOS
You can get around this problem by doing this in your PreOpenStack:
It's always worked great for me. You might want to monkey with the number of pixels
Peace.

Code: Select all
set the doubleClickDelta to 40
Peace.

Re: New app wants to replace an existing app on iPad
Hi all - With everyone's help, I've come to a reasonable workaround. By manually editing the info.plist and then including it in a subsequent build (via the copy files pane), I'm able to deploy the app to my device. However, I can fairly confidently say that for me, both LiveCode 8.0 and 8.1.0 (dp2)...

Re: New app wants to replace an existing app on iPad
Sorry to drag this on, but I'm still having problems. Interestingly enough, when I look at my app's contents and dig into the "embedded.mobilprovision" file, I do see that the correct app ID is present. However, the "info.plist" file has my identifier as: "com.yourcompany.${PRODUCT_NAME:identifier}"...

Re: New app wants to replace an existing app on iPad
Yes, that's exactly what I did.
I'd appreciate any other suggestions.
Thanks

Re: New app wants to replace an existing app on iPad
Well... That was painful. And, unfortunately, unproductive. Thanks for the advice, but I'm still having the same problems. Any idea why no matter what I put in the standalone settings pane for the identifier and the version, xCode always reports that the app is version 1.0 and ID: "com.yourcompany.$...

Re: New app wants to replace an existing app on iPad
Thanks for the idea.
Unfortunately I had created a new app ID and used it.
The odd thing is that the changes I make in standalone settings pane (eg version, ID) don't seem to be reflected in the compiled app.
I'd be grateful for any potential workarounds...

Re: New app wants to replace an existing app on iPad
Hi all - I'm becoming even more confused and I'd appreciate some assistance. To follow up with what I posted earlier: So now, I tried to create a brand new provisioning profile and build my new app using it. When I try to use xCode to install the new app on my phone, I get the same error as before -...

Re: New app wants to replace an existing app on iPad
Hi Paul - Thanks for the speedy reply. And sorry to not be more clear. I made an app with LiveCode and installed it on my iPhone: - display name: bell - internal app id: com.projectiveart.bell - provisioning profile: 2016 development I made a new app with LiveCode and attempted to install on my iPho...

Re: New app wants to replace an existing app on iPad
Hi all - I'd be ever so grateful for some help. I'm experiencing the same problem described above (i.e., xCode wanting to replace an existing app). But I've gone back a dozen times and ensured that the "Internal app ID," the "display name," and "version" are all different. The only thing that isn't ...

Re: Recently used apps button
Hi Kim - Welcome to Livecode iOS. For your first issue, you'll need to include iOS splash screens of the appropriate dimensions. You do this in the iOS standalone application settings. For the second issue, you need to keep track of where the user is in your app and save this to a preference file. T...

Re: Success with BLE External
How do you feel about this being turned into a blog post for livecode.com? Thanks, Monte. I couldn't' have done the project without your externals and examples - and actually, I can't say that I've done much more than just combining the expertise of other folks. I don't know much about the blog pos...
