Re: Where are the newbies?

I have this old, old fear that I am back in 1999, and my beloved HC is becoming marginalized... Craig Same here. I am a pure hobby user and enjoyed HC, RevMedia and LC Community for many years. I wouldn't mind paying a fair amount for LC, but the price is way too much for the amount I would use it....

Profile edit problem

I am unable to change the location value in my profile. I get to the edit profile page, modify the contents of the Location field, click Submit and then see Information The requested page could not be found. And when I check, my location has not been modified. I've tried several times and have also ...

Re: Video does not show in standalone

Klaus, you're talking to someone who has only a very basic knowledge of LiveCode—HyperCard, no problem, but LC I find highly confusing (I even bought the printed documentation that was issued earlier this year and simply can't get on with it, as it does not have an index). I assure you that I do not...

Re: Video does not show in standalone

In the player object inspector, the Source is entered simply as Happy.mp4 (the name of the video file, which is situated in the same folder as the LC stack). This plays fine in LC itself. When tested in the standalone with the suggested button, the filename returned is Happy.mp4 Note that the video ...

Video does not show in standalone

Very simple stack, just one card with a player object, whose path points to an mp4 video file. Works fine in LiveCode, but when a standalone is made, the video frame is shown, but without the video. I have tried referencing the mp4 file in the Copy Files section of Standalone Settings, but this just...

Re: Locating errors shown by Standalone maker

I wish I could remember how I converted the stack from SuperCard to Revolution. I suspect the references remained then. Anyway, can you please explain further, Or maybe the bug is in the checkbox that toggles the stored files property… My apps create all their file references dynamically in scripts.

Re: Locating errors shown by Standalone maker

Wonderful, Jacque! I deleted the "files" entry and now the standalone is created successfully without warnings. I imagine I could have recreated the old path and placed some dummy files there, which would have been fine for 14 files, but others might encounter similar problems with many more files, ...

Re: Locating errors shown by Standalone maker

Thank you Jacque. The double-slash in the middle of the path appears in all 14 "not found" errors (the path is basically the same for them all, with the exception of the filename itself). I tried your suggestion, but the result remained the same, unfortunately. I then opened the stack in TextWrangle...

Re: Locating errors shown by Standalone maker

And that's the really strange thing, for the pathname of each image is correct, pointing to the current file and not to the file referenced in the SuperCard stack. It's as if the original SuperCard reference is hidden somewhere… As an example, the pathname to the image for a record label is referenc...

Re: Locating errors shown by Standalone maker

The main folder is not in a folder named "SuperCard". There are, as far as I am aware, no custom properties in the stack. The stack was originally made in HyperCard; it was then converted to SuperCard and then, some years ago, converted to Revolution (LiveCode). At the time the stack was in SuperCar...

Best regards

Yes, I do have SuperCard, though I have not used it for many years. Can I do something with it to help find a solution, perhaps?

Thanks for the ideas, but neither is relevant in my case,
