Building Livecode under Windows
Well, I have given this my best try and I still can't get Livecode to build successfully on Windows. It seems as though there are a lot of files missing. I am running under Windows 7 64 bit. I have installed VS2005 Pro and installed all the prerequisites ( at least the ones I could find. The hot fix...

Rounded Button corners jagged
I just started using Livecode. I decided to try and duplicate the card game app that is taught as part of the iOS programming course at Stanford. I dragged a button onto the the main stack and made it fairly large. I also set the style of the button to rounded corners. What amazed me is how "jagged"...

Whatever happened to the new externals API?
At the RunRevLive '09 conference a new externals API was introduced. It was supposed to be released shortly after the conference. Here is the description from the conference highlights: Mark Waddingham outlines the all-new externals API, which for the first time enables exchange of binary data, as w...

revMobile on iPhone and iPad should be alive again
It looks like revMobile should be allowed to run on iOS after Apple's announcement today. I hope that there is a direct comment from RunRev very soon on this topic to clarify their support going forward.

I agree it should probably say this-if it is true. Here is the exact excerpt from the article. Also notice that it does not say XCode 2.4.x or higher: Before we begin Before going any further you will need: Revolution 2.7.x (any edition should do) Visual C++ 2005 - any edition including Express (if ...

Creating Externals - Do you still need version 2.7 to do it?
In the article "Externals-Part1" it mentions that Revolution 2.7 is required.
Is this still true now that 2.9 has been released?
I know I should have posted to the "Using Externals and Plugins" forumk but I thought I may get better exposure here.
Thanks

Handling callbacks from an function in an external DLL
I was wondering how Revolution would handle a callback from an external function written in C++. I have a stock quote DLL that is wrtten in C++ that issues a quote update message whenever a new quote is received. What I was planning on doing is calling the "SendMCMessage" or "SendCardMessage" every ...

Changing the color of the content in a text field.
I am trying to change some of the text in the content property of a textfield via the inspector. I select the text and then do the following: I select the Text menu item and then the Color submenu item. However, I only see six basic colors plus the pen color. Does anyone know how to change the color...

I like Revoution, but.........
I have been doing a trial on Reveolution for about a week. The concepts behind the application seem quite straightforward but I am running into alot of bugs with the software which is constantly requiring me to exit the program and restart it again. This is quite annoying. Is there a place to report...
