Re: Completely deleting substack / stack

Excellent Klaus. Got it working. Thanks.

I need to try and spend an hour or so with LC every day instead of dropping off and not using it for years at a time. :) Every time I go back to LC and tinker, I'm amazed.

Completely deleting substack / stack

I have a stack with a substack. On the substack I have a button and I want it to delete the substack. I believe I did this about 3 years ago. I guess I need to spend more time with LC :) What am I doing wrong? Basically I want the substack to show only once during the lifetime of the application. On...

Re: Batch file with a flag -- need assistance

Still no luck.

Could it be that the file is in use (or memory) and I'm not getting that error.

Re: Batch file with a flag -- need assistance

Ok. Try put "cmd /k" && tFile into tFile get shell (tFile) put it Or add "cmd /k" as the last line of your batch file @SparkOut I'll give it shot and update here. Good tip, SparkOut. What is the advantage to the user in displaying the output in the console window? @FourthWorld I'd say there is no r...

Re: Batch file with a flag -- need assistance

Correct. The command prompt console should remain open. Just as if you were running the bat file from the command line. Nothing is passed back to LC.

Re: Batch file with a flag -- need assistance

The message box has the correct output in it (from the bat file), as expected. The console flashes and disappears. As noted earlier, uncommenting the line "set the hideConsoleWindows to true" fixed that for me. If that isn't working for you we may need to file a bug report. So aside from that cosme...

@FourthWorld - When using that I get the expected output in the message box.
Does that mean the issue is resolved?

Negative, it's not going to the console.

Re: Batch file with a flag -- need assistance

Same thing ... the console flashes, even when compiled into an exe and run as administrator.

Let me try that second part and update .

Update: same thing, the console flashes.

Re: Batch file with a flag -- need assistance

Yes. Even if the app is compiled and the exe is run as administrator the same thing happens (console flashes). You can also do runas Administrator in lc scripting. The bat file just can't be run from the Program Files directory.

Re: Batch file with a flag -- need assistance

@SparkOut the above didn't work either, same thing ... the console popped up and disappeared. This has me stopped in my tracks.

I have a test file attached.

Re: Batch file with a flag -- need assistance

What is the appropriate response? By which I mean, if you copy and paste *exactly* that into a command prompt, what happens? If it works, then a dummy console title of a pair of double quotes beforehand might be the answer. If not, your whole variable and / or quote wrapping is an issue. If copy an...
