Re: What is needed to be able to test for iOS?

Panos.

Well, I realized it is time to move on, so I updated to Sierra.

Thanks,

Re: Stop user pressing Enter in entry field

Hi.

Try this in the field script:

Code: Select all

on returnInfield
end returnInfield

on enterInField
end enterInField
LC will never see messages like "returnInField" that it uses to er, return in a field.

Re: Delete Card in LC 9 problem

Hi.

In v. 8 a command to delete a card would be queued until a running handler ends. Likely in v9 as well.

But you are correct. In v7 the command could be executed while the handler was running.

Feature, hassle or bug?

What is needed to be able to test for iOS?

Playing around with widgets, and thinking about mobile. I have an indy license, which I do not use, just having it to help support LC. But isn't that enough to be able to open the iOS simulator? The "test" menuItems in menu "Development" are disabled in my v.8 setup. And I thought that even in the C...

Re: Text Entry field Cursor

Ah.

Jacque may have identified the issue.

is it that you want the user to be able to click on a word or line, and then have LC extract the pertinent data for further processing?

Something like:

Code: Select all

on mouseUp
answer the clickText
...etc.

Re: Text Entry field Cursor

as the cursor can't be
positioned with the mouse.
I am puzzled as well. LC is "ordinary" in the way it treats editable fields. Others have asked how to set the cursor in a body of text WITHOUT using the mouse. Is it possible this is what you meant?

Re: Cannot enter data in field

I am missing something. The OP stated that the cursor changed to the blinking editable style when within the rect of the field.

No?

Re: Cannot enter data in field

i am not able to enter data via keyboard. Nothing happens.
Can you be more specific? If the cursor is an arrow as you move around the card, do you mean it stays an arrow when it is in the field? Or does it change to the editable cursor but you still cannot enter text via the keyboard?

Re: Generating Variables in a Repeat loop

I feel like I ought to start a new thread. Today, both these work: put "AHA" into the foundChunk do "put AHA into" && the foundChunk the "do" construction did not yesterday. The day before, the whole point of my earlier post, only the "do" worked. Apparently, the problem is which day of the week one...

Re: Method to rename stack

Hi.

"All the objects on a card" can be translated to "All the controls on a card"

Then you can (pseudo):

Code: Select all

repeat with y = 1 to the number of controls
  doSomeThingToEachControlIfRequired

Re: Truncating long words

Hi. The "formatted" properties of fields are deeply dependent on the space delimiter for words. This has been seen as either a feature or a hassle forever. To do what I think you are intending, you will have to either introduce spaces after the appropriate char or count and partition the chars thems...

Re: Generating Variables in a Repeat loop

I am depressed because all of a sudden I do not know how this stuff works. I made a button handler that performed as I originally posted. That performed the way it always did, as I said, back to Danny Goodman. I tested it just to be sure. Yep. just as advertised. Then I tried it again today, and the...

Re: Generating Variables in a Repeat loop

Richard. LC runs the following line of code: put "25" into the foundChunk() without issue. It allows both "the" and "()", that is, both synonym forms together. Anyway, None of that matters anymore. I just don't know what to do. All of a sudden, this works fine: on mouseUp find "xyz" in fld 1 put "AH...

Re: Generating Variables in a Repeat loop

Richard. I was not being flip with you. LC allows one to include both "the" and "()" in the same line: put "25" into the foundChunk() That is all I meant. I am constantly surprised at how LC seems to be even more forgiving than HC, almost to a fault. I am thinking of two "lines" of code being allowe...
