Re: Accessing grouped objects from card behavior script

@ Beetlejooce

You do know about the menu "Edit group" in the menubar, right?

This probably does mostly, if not exactly what the "start editing" command drums up.

Re: mouseUp mouseButtonNumber

Hi. ClipArtGuy has nailed it. Practice. practice... I am only posting because you said: mouseUp 3 - gives Not a valid parameter name message Of the three code lines you gave, this one is syntactically correct. I just want you to find out why it fails. This works just fine in a button script: on mous...

Speedy LiveCode

I have not changed my machine in years, and am using v. 8. on a 3.2 GHz iMac in OS 10.13 A handler like the following: on mouseup put the ticks into temp put "4" into foo repeat 10000000 --ten million add 4 to foo --79 ticks -- get random(999) --86 ticks -- put 4 + 6 into foo -- 118 ticks end repeat...

Re: No messages in widgets?

Hmmm. Because these messages ARE "forwarded" to LC Script by the svg-icon-path widget. mouseDown mouseUp mouseDoubleUp mouseEnter mouseLeave no other mouse event. The SVG widget does indeed respond to a mouseUp handler in the widget script. But the line graph does not. So is there a list of trappabl...

Re: No messages in widgets?

Klaus and all: I just read: http://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?p=126346#p126346 This was written several years ago, but details most of the issue. The one thing I picked out in the first post above, that seems to have been in LCMark's mind, was that the script object of a widget in particular ...

No messages in widgets?

Hermann mentioned this to me in another thread. I wrote: ...Messages seem to be blocked in a widget. Even rawKeyDown. So there is no communication between the LC script and LC builder worlds??? Anyone? Does this seem reasonable? I am not able to determine if the cursor simply enters the widget rect ...

Re: Resize/move line graph?

Hermann. I have never used a widget, but you are right. Messages seem to be blocked in a widget. Even rawKeyDown. So there is no communication between the LC script and LC builder worlds??? Anyone? Does this seem reasonable? I am not able to determine if the cursor simply enters the widget rect itse...

Re: Vertical alignment in text fields

I vote for this as well. It is tedious to use the margin properties of a field to "find", say, the vertical center of a field's text, and this has to be readjusted if one changes the textSize.

Re: Resize/move line graph?

Hi.

Do I assume you are speaking of a line graph widget?

If so, what is the issue? The widget is simple to drag and resize. What Hermann has offered seems suited more to a polygon graphic.

Re: Docs for Table Field?

I like table fields a lot, and use them a lot. But there is an anomaly with them that must be addressed. It is if they are ill, but there is a pill that makes them better. See this: http://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=31452&hilit=table+field#p170731 The good news is that once they swallow...

Re: Limit stack aspect ratio

Bernd did one
I would not characterize that as "inelegant".

That is what I meant, that there are secret pathways within LC to ferret out such gadgetry.

But, pderocco, is that the issue? To determine when the user has stopped resizing, and get LC to take over?

Re: Limit stack aspect ratio

Hi. I have not played with this, but surely you can (assuming you have a fld 1): on resizeStack put the rect of this stack into fld 1 end resizeStack And with the final rect, you can do the math and resize the stack to the ratio you want, including fitting as best as you can into the screenrect. So ...

Re: Array average

I thought the issue was that the OP wanted to get the average of an array. The average function will only work with clear data. Unless I am just not getting it, the array must be converted to an ordinary dataSet with the "combine" command, and then the average function can be used. And yes, an empty...
