Re: Change the textSize in the variable pane of the SE

Richmond.

This is similar to the thread about changing the textColor of the various elements in the SE, such as comments, keywords, etc.

The changes do not stick. I still have not played with Bogs' recipe for that, but when I do, I bet the same procedure will be applicable to this as well.

Re: Filtering User input "key pressed" / Repeat for each ?

Did you try placing the handler in the card script and typing into a bunch of fields? Do it. Now then. The keyDown message is sent from the "target", which is the field currently being typed into. On a NEW card, make two new fields and a button. We are going to set a custom property for each field, ...

Re: Filtering User input "key pressed" / Repeat for each ?

Do you know that you can place that handler in the card or stack script, so that all fields will have the same functionality? In that way, you only need a single handler, and all fields will act similarly.. Try it. Make several fields, and move that handler to the card script. Make sure you clear th...

Re: Filtering User input "key pressed" / Repeat for each ?

Hi.

Why not go right to the source? In the field script:

Code: Select all

on keyDown tKey
if tKey is not in "@+-*" then pass keyDown
end keyDown

Re: Datagrid loc field dynamically

What Klaus said. Most importantly, you really ought not to relocate a field already part and parcel of the DG groupGroupGroup. This can, certainly, be done: set the loc of fld "col 1 0002" to "50,50" But I cannot think of any good reason to. I am posting just to make sure you understand how the part...

Re: Simple CTRL key question.

Hi. There is nothing wrong. You are just getting going is all. Know that there are two runtime modes, "Browse" and "Pointer". Only the pointer tool (edit mode) allows direct manipulation of screen objects, such as selecting, copying, deleting and moving. And the reason I said "direct", is because in...

Richmond.

This is adorable. Can you expand it a bit to include arrow keys, keypad numbers, Page Up, spacebars and the like? That would be a nice little gadget to have taped to ones monitor.

Max.

Am i misunderstanding how to use your function? I get massively truncated lines with any sort of text, and hyphens in all the wrong places.

Re: Not declaring Local Variables and script works ! why declaring them then ?

What Bogs has really spoken about is a "script local" variable, that is, a local variable that will retain its value over an entire script. I am sure you know that a script may contain many handlers, and it is among ALL the handlers in a script that such a variable will be accessible. Note that the ...

Re: a roundDown function

As you say, existing native LC gadgetry can do this pretty easily. You do know how to use the "round" function with both positive and negative parameters, right?

I doubt whether this will get much traction in Scotland, but we will see what the community says...

Just for grins, know that on a Mac (of course) a wider range of prehistory is available.

Re: Hyphenation of long words

I am misunderstanding something. Is it not the case that hyphenation only need occur when the word in question is at the end of a line? And that the goal is to more evenly space the text? Or is it just that you want to hyphenate for readability? Or for fun, or some other sinister purpose? If the fir...
