How to identify iPhone X
I've been looking at modifying an app to be iPhone X friendly by avoiding the safe areas at the top & bottom of a portrait screen. An app can run in compatibility mode but only if it is approved within the next month. Is there another way to identify an iPhone as model X other than checking the scre...

Re: Error saving standalone
Hi jacque,
No, the profile that did not work was only about a month old. The code signing procedure remains a mystery to me.
Thanks for your help,
Jack

Re: Error saving standalone
The provisioning profile I was using did include the device where installation failed. However, I created a new provisioning profile and for some reason the app will install now. Is it necessary to create a new one with each version of Xcode?

Re: Error saving standalone
Thank you Panos. Your solution works and I can now create a standalone app and have it run on an iPhone with iOS 11.2.5. However, I can't get it to install on my iPad that also has iOS 11.2.5. I get a message "App installation failed. Could not write to this device." and sometimes Invalid entitlemen...

Error saving standalone
I was excited to see the new release of LC 8.1.9 because it supposedly supports OS X 10.13, XCode 9.2, and iOS 11.2. However, I can't save a standalone app with it. Since my real app wouldn't work, I tried a very simple app that has only 1 field that displays the current time. I can create a standal...

Re: When will we have Apple Watch and Apple TV Dev Kits?
Mine was not a DEMAND, just a simple question about something that is important to me. I was wondering why the original post did not merit a reply from the LiveCode staff. Many of the features that Dixie mentions, although monumental for some, are irrelevant to me.

Re: When will we have Apple Watch and Apple TV Dev Kits?
This is something I was wondering about also, especially for the TV. Heather or Kevin, is this going to get included in LiveCode in the foreseeable future?

Re: Does autoCorrectionType work?
Please ignore this post. I've discovered I had auto correct turned on in the settings menu of my phone. I'm feeling really dumb right now.

Does autoCorrectionType work?
No matter what I try, I can't turn off auto correct in an Android native input control (either text or multiline). This is true for ver. 6.6.2 and 6.7 dp4. 7.0 dp6 won't even display the control. I've tried setting autoCorrectionType to "no" as the dictionary suggests as well as false. Has anyone el...

Re: External zip file for photos
Has anyone had success with loading an expansion file? I am trying to port an iOS app that has 1200 pictures and there is no way to get it below the 50 MB limit. I had not realized this was a problem until today.

Re: Display PDF in android device
Thanks Klaus,
"put "http://docs.google.com/gview?embedded=true&url=" before tURL" really does work. It's a bit clunky but the pdf opens and you can zoom in to read it.
How did we ever make progress before we had the internet and forums like this?

Italic text in 6.5?
Has anyone gotten italic text to display using 6.5 on an Android device? I set up a very simple stack with a text field containing some italic and bold italic text and set the font to Droid Serif. Using 6.1.3 it displays properly on my Android phone. The same stack compiled with 6.5 displays bold bu...

turn off fullscreenmode in 6.5
I have an app that was developed using older versions of LiveCode so I included code to rescale all of the stacks included in it. When I run it it 6.5, I can't turn off fullscreen mode. I've tried this code in the preOpenStack (both individually and in combination) set the fullscreenmode of this sta...

Re: Android 4.x? (And the Novo 7)
I just got the INSTALL_FAILED_CONTAINER_ERROR message trying to install on an emulator for a Galaxy Tab. I changed the standalone Applications Settings in LC from "prefer external storage"" to allow external storage" and for some reason it will now run. The message must be a catch-all for lots of pr...
