Re: How can I make a PUT request to an API framework

Hi all: I think the problem (as noted by mwieder above) is the syntax. According to the newly printed LC Dictionary, the syntax for a RESTful (CRUD) PUT is put "whatever" into URL "put_target_API_link" I have tried this with a number of different API collections and it works. On a related note, and ...

Livecode engine version numbers v/s build numbers

Hi all: I am returning to LC dev after a long hiatus, so excuse me if this information has been posted in the interim an obvious place: I am not sure which version of the LC engine I am using. When I look at About, I get something like LiveCode 8.1.1 | Build 14008, whereas the downloads link uses nu...

Re: Snapshot of a desktop browser

Hi Traxgeek: I cannot even get the browser screen capture within my mobile app to work. Could you please provide some more details for your code snippets, specifically mobileControlSet nBID, "rect", the rect of image "imgBrowser" of group "grpBrowser" .... export snapshot from rect sTheRectOfTheBrow...

Re: Android open stack in different orientation

This is really a LiveCode bug that needs to be fixed, else all users, newbie and experienced, can run into a blank wall of frustration! I wish LC would document and update these issues in their on-line dictionary so there is an authoritative place to find the solutions. I had to do hours of searchin...

Re: Feature request: Proportionally objects

Hello; I just purchased the full edition of MobGui and cannot get the icon buttons to "scale" proportionately, i.e., (a) if I resize object using LC edit tools in LC IDE, the icon and text stay the same size while the object rect itself changes size. When installed on an Android device, the icons ch...

Re: Raspberry Pi GPIO

This is indeed strange. Are you logged in as a standard user with standard permissions, not guest or some restricted entity? IF so, those "commands" should work.. I'll check when I next fire up my Pi -- on the road right now... best..

Re: Raspberry Pi GPIO tutorial and clarifications

Make sure you copy the full link address in my previous post and add the h before the ttps to form the complete url, downloads from Google drive. Clarification: The stack uses shell commands that do Unix-based file i/o. For convenience and for my particular application, I put multiple Unix file i/o ...

Re: Raspberry Pi GPIO, stack with no externals, uses file i/

Here is the stack that I demoed at RunRevLive2014 in San Diego. Uses "file" based GPIO (every bit is a file) and needs no externals. For convenience and speed, I put all the GPIO "file" (dev) calls in shell scripts, but this is not necessary. See documentation in stack. BTW, the hardware is also bar...

Re: Release: LiveCode for RPi 6.5.1

Fully understand, and without hyperbole and in all sincerely, I would say that if there were a Nobel Prize in CS, Mr. Fraser would be my top nomination. I cannot overemphasize the future of ARM in 21st century computing over the next decade. In particular, look for ultralow power ARMs and then the s...

Re: Release: LiveCode for RPi 6.5.1

Hi: I have posted to various other sub-forums. Am not sure which ones you have the time to read, so sorry if this duplicates, but...is the Linux-ArM (RPI) standalone builder working? It seems to build fine with no error messages on a RPi using LC v6.5.1 that you had posted in December, but the "exec...

Re: Official Platform?

I figured out the original problem I reported above on Feb. 11, it was a bad SD card, and LiveCode installs fine on the RP!! Feb. 14, 2014.*** However, *****I know this is off topic to some extent, but hopefully it will help Livecoders trying to adopt Raspberry Pi --there is a GREAT future and hats ...

Re: Official Platform?

Thanks hh from Gottingen I was mystified by the fact that no desktop icon appeared even though install said it would, and you have explained how to "make" it appear! BTW, an icon does appear in Applications--Programming folder, which can be accessed the filemanager app on taskbar at bottom left of s...

Re: Official Platform?

Hi: Thanks for announcing this tour de force!! I tried to access the downloads page downloads-livecode-com--livecode--pi -- (I am not permitted to use URL delimiters on this forum hence the strange substitutions) tonight (feb. 8) and got a message "You don't have permission to access...additionally ...
