Re: LC versions
I just don't get the feeling that building their user base, or paying attention to any discord among the users, is the focus of the powers that be at LC. It appears to be more about the money. We are investigating the possibility of developing externals ourselves, and/or a kickstart to do that rath...

Re: Automated Conversion from FileMaker, Access or Visual Fo
I had not planned to add support for Open Office Base, because nobody had asked for it previously. I generally need to hear from quite a few people on a regular basis to add support for a new database. Especially for not only a data conversion but also for conversion of the GUI and scripts. In fact,...

Automated Conversion from FileMaker, Access or Visual FoxPro
I recently published a new video "Automated Conversion from FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Access or Visual FoxPro into LiveCode.", step by step guide to building a new LiveCode application from an existing database application. Using FmPro Migrator Platinum Edition, this video provides an overview of the...

Re: POLL: LiveCode Server deployment
I guess I'm closest to B. I run LC Server on several physical and virtual servers that are wholly owned by my department at the university. That means I can configure them for all or just selected virtual hosts on each server. Typically I will modify the host config file for only those virtual host...

Break for Jesus, B4J.ca
As a Christian, it looks like a nice website to me. Though I am not from the Ukraine, I am sure that it is a blessing to Ukrainian Christians in Toronto.
But it looks like you really are looking for the website:

Re: Converting from VB6 programming language
I have considered a version of the VB6 Conversion feature supporting Community Edition as well as Commercial Edition. I am waiting for a few items to occur first, during the LiveCode 8 Development cycle: 1) The ability for users to actually see 3rd party products within the LiveCode Extensions Manag...

Re: Installation Help
Justin, I recently did the install on Raspberry Pi also and the IDE seems to work fine (except for an issue with sound not playing, and lack of a SQLite driver). So the first thing I am wondering, is whether you really meant to install livecode-community-server or do you want to install the IDE? The...

Re: SQL Yoga error on mobile platform
Never mind...
A few minutes after I posted this message, I noticed that I had forgotten to add SQLite to the standalone settings for IOS.
So I guess we now know what that type of error message looks like. You need to do this on both IOS and Android if SQLite or MySQL is going to be used by the app.

SQL Yoga error on mobile platform
I am trying to use SQL Yoga to connect to an embedded SQLite database with a mobile application, running in the IOS simulator. The stack works fine on the desktop. It seems like I have the pathname correctly defined, as shown in the PUT statement echoing the pathname I am using to the console. I get...

Re: SQLyoga and LC 7 DP1
Trevor - FYI, I have been testing with LiveCode 7dp7 (and earlier 7.0 versions), and it seems that SQL Yoga does throw errors. I am getting an error at line# 1456 in joinClauseFromQuery. stack "libSQLYoga": execution error at line 1456 (extents: error in variable expression), char 1 This same code w...

Re: Update: Solution for 'invisible' LC dock icon on some M
I entered this as a bug today in the Quality Center, #11125 I used Icon Composer to fix the icons for both community and commercial editions, and added these icons as a zip file attachment to the bug report. During my testing I verified that it was working with MacOSX 10.5 running on a PowerBook 17,...

Re: reading FoxPro .dbf file metadata?
Thanks Jan and Doc. I have looked at some of this info previously and was trying to avoid reinventing the wheel. But upon looking at it again, it might not be that time consuming to just write it all from scratch. Besides, I am going to need the backlink list from .DBC files anyhow, and don't see mu...

reading FoxPro .dbf file metadata?
I know that previously Bob Sneidar had posted info about reading metadata from .dbf files. I am wondering if this code was uploaded or made available somewhere, as I have a need to perform the same task. If I can read enough metadata from .dbf files, then I can attempt to perform the conversion of a...

folder tab cut off on Vista?
I have a customer reporting that the folder tab icon I am using in one of my products (SQLite Diff) is half cut off when he runs it on Vista. He reports that the problem occurs with and without Aero running. I don't yet have a copy of Vista running on any virtual machines (running out of disk space)...
