Re: Repairing the amnesia of standalones

Dear Bogs, Seen from here you should have received 2 replies, one of which contains the 2 text files I produced with your program, and one which merely tells, that i clarified the problems in a post to this thread. This means, that you should have the full text of the phenoupdate handler , which - i...

Re: Repairing the amnesia of standalones

The issues are two . and only on windows standalone. In substack "phenomenalog" : a) there is a button, which is supposed to open the mainstack and close that substack, but it doesn't work b) there is a menu called "Tools" in which one option is called "phenoupdate", and precisely that option doesn'...

Re: Repairing the amnesia of standalones

So I reached a situation, where mainstack and substack with menu ( including dialogs for deleting cards and updating) and link to mainstack works perfectly on windows. However the standaloning of the launcher stack (myDiary.livecode) produces a MyDiary.exe file, which has the full menu, including fu...

Re: Repairing the amnesia of standalones

Thank you, On Mac no problems, it was the disappearance of menus in same stack on windows , which - after two weeks of frustrations - had brought me to a point of desperation, enough to bother you with it. After my posting I returned on windows to look for a solution......and alas: I did find it ! I...

Re: Repairing the amnesia of standalones

I postpone the miniature problem, facing a much worse:
Producing a standalone for windows seems to work, but opening in windows the menus doesn't appear.
I further copied the mainstack to windows, in order to try standaloning there, but the menus are already invisible there.
Any advice ?

Re: Repairing the amnesia of standalones

Thanks, I think I have full understanding of the concepts but the name of the standalone-builder stack, diary.livecode ( where I placed your script),may easily be misunderstood as the the mainstack name e-diary.livecode, which the standaloned diary.livecode refuses to open. I therefore renamed the s...

Re: Repairing the amnesia of standalones

Sorry, I still can't make it work. The standalones just opens the Diary.livecode file even if livecode is closed I have copied your text directly into the file. Could there be aspects of the standalone settings where I have failed. ? There is a choice between search for required inclusions or select...

Re: Repairing the amnesia of standalones

Hello I am afraid I still need some help- I want of course to publish, so the launcher should not refer to the long effective filename on my computer , but just to the folder of the application. I tried to abbreviate the reference, omitting the layers above the application, but can't make it work. f...

Re: Repairing the amnesia of standalones

So many thanks !!!! Now its basic operation works ok. The amnesia has been cured ! HOWEVER: A central aspect of the mainstack is the functioning of a substack "My cyberspaces", permitting the user to make / and baptise/ links to internet sites. (Already installed are links to wikipedia, advanced goo...
