Sub-to-srt - subtile conversion stack

The Sub-to-srt stack on Livecode share has now been updated. The interface has been simplified and frame rate conversions can now be applied to converted ssa and sub files. For those who came in late...(apologies to L Falk) Sub-to-srt is a conversion utility for subtitles. It will convert either "su...

Re: New to LiveCode- Issue with Documentation

This is the same, I think, in the docset I make for Dash. For each entry of type “object”, “widget”, “library” and “module” a search is performed for any other entry that lists this type as “Associated”. The results of these are thus presented, sorted by type and name under each “object”, “widget”, ...

Re: Populating a Form Datagrid with Records from a Database

Placing and retrieving multi line text from a database is possible. The variable(s) containing multiple lines are still just variables. Retrieve the data from the dB is a bit trickier. If you didn’t populate the database (and thus do not know if multi lines are present you will need to choose row an...

Re: Dash docset creator for LiveCode

Seems the widget libraries are now (dp11) of type “module” which meant they were overlooked when looking for associated properties, functions etc. This has now been corrected as of version 2.5 Version 2.5 • Adjust internal cross ref to account for change of widget libray type to "module" Version 2.4...

Re: Keyboard access in LCB

hmm. none of the current widgets have text input (that I can see) except for the Android native field and I assume the soon to appear iOS/MacOS native fields. Both these widgets will employe the FFI to hook into the java or Objective-C libraries which will allow for keyboard entry and, from reading ...

onFocusEnter
OnFocusLeave
OnKeyPress
OnLayerChanged

the list goes on.

Check out the docs for "com.livecode.widget" in the LCB section of the dictionary.

Re: How to get started with ... everything?

Thanks @livecodeali

Some of these release notes really need to be migrated into the guides.
More on the todo list.

Re: How to get started with ... everything?

More than a lesson. It could be expanded to be a generic overview of how to write an extension to call foreign code and what structure the widget needs to have. For example if we were calling a Mac binary, what code folder would be required? When calling parts of the Mac or iOS framework we do not a...

Re: How to get started with ... everything?

You could also log in to your account at LiveCode.com and look down the left hand list at the “Learning” category. I have a “Widget Course” listed there. It is not too bad, although there are a couple of ‘bugs’. Read the comments for each lesson.

Re: Installing SQLYoga

Check out “dgData” in the dictionary.

Also, if using the current stable release of LC click on the “Guide” tab when you open the dictionary and have a look through the guide to the Data Grid, it is in the intermediate section.

Re: Dash docset creator for LiveCode

Sorry about that. Only working with Dash it self I don’t know what limitations exist on the non Mac platforms.
I see there was an interesting and long discussion of this issue on the Zeal repository.
Perhaps you might follow it better than I.

Re: FMaker - a folder maker stack

Updated FMaker to use "revCopyFile" rather than <URL "binfile..."> when moving files to newly created folder. This means the files do not need to be read into memory to be moved. This speeds up the process considerably, especially if you are moving large files, or the files reside on a network drive.

Re: Dash docset creator for LiveCode

I wish I knew. Reading on the Dash website, the developers for other platforms are required to work with the Dash developer to ensure compatibility. Given one of the major selling points was the ability to access the user contributions I am perplexed as to why ‘lovelydocs’ can’t. You might need to w...
