Re: [SOLVED] Is Community Plus win 9.0.2 slow ?

Follow up

I've set exclusions for the following folders in Avast and Malwarebytes, and this really helps.
Still not snappy but better.

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\RunRev\*

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\RunRev\*
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\._LiveCode_\*

and my user plugins directory

Re: [SOLVED] Is Community Plus win 9.0.2 slow ?

Great Work. Turning off Windows defender helped but still slow, however, I use Avast AV and Malwarebytes for anti-virus and malware detection, both live scanning. Temporarily switching off Avast has shown a great speed up with LiveCode 9.0.2 on Windows 10, so it seems that LiveCode is doing somethin...

Re: Standalone not connecting to mySQL

Are you using a V8.XX community version? I've noticed that in the HTTP inclusion is often not listed or included in some of the 8 versions, this applies to manual or automatic inclusion settings. So I tested with 8.1.4 community and see the error using the following. on mouseUp put url "http://www.g...

What are you working on?

I'm a regular follower of https://www.indiehackers.com , and they have this section What are you working on? which I always find interesting. This is a place where people show what they are doing at the moment, and I thought it might be interesting to start a similar thread here. So I'll kick off. I...

Re: Need help on basic code

Welcome to the forums iliya, What you want to do is fairly simple with LiveCode. Instead of showing the whole code on how to do this, I think you would find it better in the long term to source the information and put it together yourself. I have provided a few links below which should help you. Liv...

Re: [New Book] LiveCode Advanced Application Architecture

Hi Andre,

The book looks great. Can you accept payments via PayPal?

On the conversion front, at the time of this post 15 GBP is 16,86 Euro.

Looking forward to your next blog post on your site.

lcmsresources.txt saves to specialFolderPath("Home") on Linux.
Win/Mac remains specialFolderPath("Documents").

Re: LiveCode Multi-Search

Hmm, not so easy. All sorts of strange things happening on Linux Mint 64bit. I made a small test stack for checking the write to Home and this works...until a browser widget is added. So with Mint 17.3 64bit LC 9.0.2 crashes when opening a stack with a browser LC 8.1.4 just hangs and puts the CPU at...

Re: LiveCode Multi-Search

Ok it looks like specialFolderPath("Documents") is not available on Linux! Looking at the docs I need to use specialFolderPath("Home") On Linux systems, the following folderIdentifier values are supported: "home": The current user's home folder "desktop": The current user's desktop folder "temporary...

Re: LiveCode Multi-Search

bogs, Ah my bad! I should have removed the resources.txt reference from copy files as it is no longer required. Please remove from the copy files before compiling. I've just updated the file on Sample Stacks to this end. A lcmsresources.txt is generated on first run in the user/documents folder (if ...
