Re: Where are the newbies?
The funnel I'm referring to is the classic sales conversion model, where above the funnel is all potential prospects, and at the bottom are loyal customers. In between are various stages of contact, each with a conversion rate. Richard, Thank you very much for these precisions and for this very int...

Re: Where are the newbies?
Forums are bottom-of-the-funnel. To see drivers look at the top of the funnel. No doubt, but as a lambda user we only have access to the bottom of the funnel. Furthermore, if I continue your metaphor, what comes out of the funnel is, in theory, exactly what goes in. The size of the spout only deter...

Re: Where are the newbies?
Very interesting, thank you for sharing NoN. Stam, thank you for your comment. What your statistics suggest nicely is that the decline in forum activity started much earlier than dropping FOSS can account for. Yes, this came as a real surprise to me, although I had rather expected the opposite. I'm...

Re: Where are the newbies?
Well, I have a feeling that fiddling around with statistics will not really explain anything of any use: the human factors are probably what accounts for most of this. Your rich sentiment explains Livecode's decision to drop the community version of the software much better than my poor statistics!...

Re: Where are the newbies?
I wonder if it has something to do with Supercard's limitations. Also, devoted HC users were starting to realize their Macs would no longer support their HC stacks. I had a lot of conversion requests around that time. Thanks a lot Jacque, it's true that the computing environment evolved quite a lot...

Re: Where are the newbies?
After a while most LiveCode users might stop considering themselves 'Complete Beginners': this does NOT mean they stopped using the Forums, just that they stopped asking questions in the 'Complete Beginners' section. Of course, but in the event of exponential growth in the number of beginners, we w...

Re: Where are the newbies?
Two years ago, as part of a small project designed to test a few things (execution time, etc.), I chose the content of the Livecode forum: "Getting Started with LiveCode - Complete Beginners" as my data source. This was the forum with the highest number of topics and posts (8669 at the time of my te...

Re: SeeColors - tool to preview colors
Cher Zax,
For information, at the first opening everything went well.
On the second opening, I get the following message "Invalid URL or unkbow error. [#8748]".
When I tried to put some text in the text areas (during the first opening) I had the same kind of message.

Re: UHD Radio app in TestFlight
@Phil Hi Phil, With hindsight, I can summarize my thoughts: for someone unfamiliar with this type of application, it's hard to understand at first glance what's information and what's interactivity. But once you've got the hang of it, it works like a charm. Don't hesitate to let me know about your n...

@Stam
Yes, I think my feeling is that of someone who is not very familiar with this kind of application.

Re: UHD Radio app in TestFlight
Hi Phil, I've just downloaded and tested UHD Radio on a Vivo phone (running Android 13 / Funtoch OS) and here are a few hot-off-the-press comments. First of all, I'd like to point out that it works perfectly. I've actually got the headphones in my ears! But after that, I'd also like to make a few cr...

Re: Sehen - Hören - Merken (german app)
Klaus, Congratulations for this nice apps ! Regarding the Google and K controversy, as a Qwant user for many years, I stopped using Google mainly because of privacy issues. So I don't have much sympathy for this search engine and its parent company, but in this "K" controversy, I'm inclined to come ...

"Sorry for the late answer - too much 'actual' work "
Hello
@ Stam, It is my turn to be sorry for this late reply. What is curious is that I was not notified of your answer (?!).
And above all, I also apologize to Xero for diverting the course of his initial question.

Re: LC to C# conversion
I wasn't necessarily thinking of library stacks, but stacks that are designed for one project and can be called upon for another project for example. I think this process is rarely used with LC to avoid having to rewrite code (?). But I also agree that the limit is difficult to define between inheri...
