Re: Strictly for bonkers types

Not sure what you mean by file manager, but I have something started that might resemble a file manager, called scanhammer. It's clunky and in need of love, but its a start.

Re: Pasteurized Arrowkeys

The scripts do not have line numbers, at least the engine does not count them or support this. In some ways that's a pity. :( Structured languages that lack GOTO definitely make some things harder, but line numbers are not a good thing. Line labels seem to be a reasonable tool (even if they can mak...

Re: Voice to text

They have the code to do it. When we paid Monte to write mergGoogle we also paid him to write an external to interface with Dragon. It's not as good as you'd hope, so we abandoned it.

Re: Levure error when including git

Oh please. Keep asking questions and soon you will be helping the next person who is trying to figure out how to use Levure. This isn't beginner-level stuff, and it's only a recent development. Even Git, which has been around for a decade, is only now starting to get tools written to help make it ea...

Re: Levure error when including git

The git executable is not the Github desktop app. The Github desktop is just a GUI for the git CLI (command-line interface). Change the field to blank and try again.

There are many git gui's, so don't be afraid to try one of the others once you get your project started.

Re: Levure error when including git

I'm confused by what you mean, so a screenshot might help.
Do you mean including .git? How did you "include" it? Do you mean in the standalone builder?
No, you don't include the .git folder when you do a build.

Re: Bye Livecode

If someone is not on LC's BOD and is not privy to the financials and confidential c-suite information, they are not in a reasonable position to discuss resource allocation. If they are on the BOD, they should not be discussing any of that information publicly. So, I can't or I won't answer the quest...

Re: Bye Livecode

It needs to be done like it's important, which means someone needs to be paid to do it. That won't be me.

Re: Bye Livecode

I completely agree that someone should be appointed to take control of onboarding, and that includes documentation, videos, tutorials, examples, etc., and it should be completely rebooted.
No, I am not volunteering.

The LC Dropbox commands are based on V2, but you are correct, there is no authorization workflow in the commands.

Re: Saving Files to SQL Database

If you're storing an entire file, I don't see a benefit in a traditional SQL database. The client has to deconstruct the file, convert the contents for transport to the server, and transmit the contents and the properties (metadata) for the file. The server has to store the properties and the conten...

Re: Saving Files to SQL Database

If you're going to store it remotely, then you should probably base64 encode it. Is there a reason to put it into the database instead of storing it separately on the server and then retrieving it when necessary? You would then just store the path to the file in the database instead of the entire fi...
