LiveCode vs. The Web
First, let me be clear - I do not intend this as a flame bait type of post. I don't want to ruffle any feathers. I actually need good quality perspective from LiveCode professionals to steer me in the right direction. I apologize if I step on any toes. I am an application developer for a telecom com...

Data Grid Templates Missing
I built an example stack to show the wonders of LiveCode to my coworkers. It has a datagrid, connects to a MySQL DB, and puts the data in the grid. Worked great inside IDE. Standalone - not so much. All the DB connection stuff works, can actually see it collecting data, can "Answer" some of the data...

Re: Filliing Option Buttons in DataGrid
Klaus, Wow. That was the issue. Thank you so much. I still don't understand how the first option menu was updated properly, but I just don't care at this point. I must say, I haven't been very positive about LiveCode so far. However, I can say that the community is amazing. I've never received such ...

Filliing Option Buttons in DataGrid
This question has been asked many times in the forum. I've reviewed about 6 of them. Unfortunately, I'm still not getting it. My situation seems a little different. I have the typical data grid with 2 columns. One of the columns is named "stpCol" and has a column behavior. This column should have an...

Re: LiveCode Dictionary Off Screen
The only one I know of for sure is when I'm using multiple monitors and have the dictionary on the external screen to my laptop, then try to open it with the external monitor not attached. The old position seems to be remembered even though the monitor is no longer present. That's exactly what happ...

Application Browser is Crazy Full
I'm stumbling along with LiveCode. I've done the "Game Academy" and the "Live Code Getting Started Course". In each of these video series, the instructor shows the "Application Browser" several times. Their Application Browsers just list the few cards and stacks they have open. My application browse...

Re: LiveCode Dictionary Off Screen
Ah! Thanks so much for the answer. I was suspecting I could use the Message Box to set it's position. I just had no clue how to determine the name of the stack. Hi, This is a super annoying bug that should have been fixed by RunRev a decade ago. I don't have the faintest idea why they don't bother. ...

LiveCode Dictionary Off Screen
I've found a weird issue with LiveCode. I normally use an external monitor in addition to my laptop's screen. When working in LiveCode, I keep the "Dictionary" on the other screen. Today, I am not connected to my external monitor as I am remote. When I open the Dictionary, it is not on-screen. I can...

Re: Version Control
I'm new to LiveCode as well. I like it and hate it....I don't in any way mean for that statement to be a bash of the developers of this app or those that love using it. Quite simply using LiveCode is completely different than the PHP, Perl, HTML, JavaScript world I come from. The learning curve isn'...

Bad Link in LiveCode User Guide
I've discovered a bad link in the LiveCode user guide (it can be accessed from : http://downloads.runrev.com/userguide/userguide.pdf). On page 271 of the User Guide, there is a link to :http://www.runrev.com/developers/exploring-LiveCode/databases/. The correct link is : http://www.runrev.com/develo...
