Re: OpenStack not runnning

Unfortunately the stack is confidential, so I can't make it public. :-(

Re: OpenStack not runnning

Bogs, I have made a lot of changes so hard to pin down what might have caused the change. I have checked and no preOpenStack anywhere There is no card script, only a stack script There are several substacks, all of which had: on openstack exit openstack end openstack This was because they all trigge...

OpenStack not runnning

I have had a stack running fine but suddenly on launching the stack, OpenStack does not run. If I say OpenStack in the message window it runs fine. Any ideas pls?

Re: LC Buddy collaborative coding

Just to chip in and say great idea. Would be marvellous to work collaboratively and learn from one another's good and bad habits.

Re: How to make a text field "copyable" but not editable?

Thanks Craig. Just when I think I have seen all the magic that LiveCode can come up with you give me new ones. ;-) I also need to be able to see cursor so that shift right selects next char. Actually the first approach I tried was to use an unlocked text, but stop changes to it with a number of hand...

Re: How to make a text field "copyable" but not editable?

My use case is that I want to be able to move around a field, highlight text using arrow keys and shift key etc, and pressing a key or button to set off an action, for instance:

• Copy text to another field
• Change the backgroundcolor of selection
• etc

But not be able to change the text.

Here is a minimal stack that does the job using regex

Re: Bug reported relating to textchanged

Yes. In my case I can have a workaround by getting the external script doing the change to do what is necessary, as it knows text has changed. But I have to put this workaround for any script making the change. It would be nicer if the field could indicate a change no matter how that change was made.

Thank you Bogs. I have watched the first tutorial and very useful. Is there a part 2?

Re: Bug reported relating to textchanged

Ah, got it. Sorry, my confusion!

OK, but how do I use rawkey to find out if a text has been changed using a handler? I can't use on rawkeydown in place of on textchanged can I?

Pls see my minimal file I submitted in the bug report. I have added a rawkeydown handler.
