Re: Android Video Player

Hi Colin, sorry, I do not own any mobile device, no tablet or cell-phone, yes, that's me, so I don't know much about the "guts" of the Android file-system. However I doubt that your users can copy anything into the documents or resources folder inside of your app. Hope others will chime in soon... B...

Re: How to communicate across devices? Use a database?

That is, could you use LiveCloud with the free version of LiveCode?
The webpage reads:
...
Data management solved for your LiveCode Apps
Download for free now and realize your apps' full potential
...
So why don't YOU try it out and then tell US? 8)

Re: Android Video Player

Hi Colin,

due to "sanboxing" there is no "answer file..." or something like that on the mobile platform!
And we cannot fake this somehow or "roll our won".

We can e.g. use "mobilepickmedia" and only access all the supported specialfolderpath() on Android.

Re: revXMLNodeContents to DataGrid

Hi Gilar, I meant to fill the array for the datagrid directly in your XML repeat loop without using millions of variables. Like this in one loop: local sXMLID local theDataA ## if neccessary on populateFieldsHomeTeam repeat with i = 1 to 12 put revXMLNodeContents(sXMLID, "xml/teams/players[" & i & "...

Re: Fonts on standalone app fuzzy, but when in the IDE they are crisp

I never had any problem with "start using font..." on Windows. However the concatenation does not seem correct, use BRACKETS, the engine likes that, to say the least! :D ... put specialFolderPath("resources") & slash & "fonts" & slash into tFontSrc answer tFontSrc start using font file (tFontSrc & "...

Re: revXMLNodeContents to DataGrid

Hi Gilar, unfortunately we can only deal with variable names like this in a DO statement. Which is not very effective by the way, means much slower that direct scripting. It goes like this: ... repeat with i = 1 to 12 do ("put tFamilyName" & i && "into theData[" & i & "][" & "FamilyName" & "]") end ...

Re: No messages in widgets?

Aaa, thank you.

Still a littele puzzeld, so e.g. the SVG widget simply "passes" (like in a LCS) these messages, so the IDE/LCS/WE can handle them (or not)?

All mouse messages are blocked by LCB if the author doesn't implement them.

Re: No messages in widgets?

Hi Craig,

as far as I understand this, widget will only support those messages, that the deveolper had implemented in the widget.

"mouse" messages are however said to work in all widgets:

Re: Limit stack aspect ratio

Hi friends, the trick is NOT to use the "resizestack" message for this, but rather roll your own! :D The "resizestack" message cannot be overwritten in real-time, as you already have experienced. Do this: 1. UNcheck "resizable" for your stack 2. Go to -> Menu: Development: Object library 3. Select "...

Re: How to communicate across devices? Use a database?

Hi neolson, welcome to the forum! First, anyone know of a Livecode app like this that already exists that I could modify? Not that I knew. (1) I wonder if there are any ways to accomplish something like this that would be simpler than using SQL? Maybe something like an automatically-cloud-synced Liv...
