Re: No messages in widgets?

Hi Craig,

as far as I understand this, widget will only support those messages, that the deveolper had implemented in the widget.

"mouse" messages are however said to work in all widgets:

Re: Limit stack aspect ratio

Hi friends, the trick is NOT to use the "resizestack" message for this, but rather roll your own! :D The "resizestack" message cannot be overwritten in real-time, as you already have experienced. Do this: 1. UNcheck "resizable" for your stack 2. Go to -> Menu: Development: Object library 3. Select "...

Re: How to communicate across devices? Use a database?

Hi neolson, welcome to the forum! First, anyone know of a Livecode app like this that already exists that I could modify? Not that I knew. (1) I wonder if there are any ways to accomplish something like this that would be simpler than using SQL? Maybe something like an automatically-cloud-synced Liv...

Now that you mention Physics Engine, I just remembered too Franklin 3D 1.7.1 (Irrlicht Engine) for LiveCode...
Ah, yes, I remember that very well because I never could make it work without any crash, so I abandoned it quite soon. 8)

Re: Datagrid

Yes, I second that!

I never used SQLYoga, but learned some SQL, enough for working with SQLite and LC, here:

Re: Fast 2D graphics for games and simulation

Hi Al, Hi Klaus, If I want kerning etc., I will buy InDesign, XPress or the new Affinity Publisher! :D Or you could pay (until September 24), just 25 dollars for the Complete Suite of Xara Design Software: https://www.humblebundle.com... I wouldn't even if I'd be Windows guy, but I have no need for ...

Re: Datagrid

Hi Mike,

OK, as far as I understand you are missing a line:

Code: Select all

...
put field "trips" into x

## I highly presume that your data is TAB delimited:
set itemdelimiter to TAB
##

sort lines of x by item 2 of each
put "" into field "trips"
put x into field "trips"
...
Hope I got it right! :D

Re: How to get webpage data

Hi Fred, welcome to the forum! There is a trick to extract the pure text from a HMTL page: ... lock screen ## Load HTML source into a field: put url("https://www.genericpage.com/generic_search.php?valid=y&active=y&Search=Search") into fld 1 ## Then (try) to see what the HTML source will display: set...

I meant more the 2D animation capabilities like a Physics Engine etc. of SKIA and not that LC will implement EVERYTHING (which is really MUCH) that SKIA provides.

You might be better off doing this with the browser widget and a javascript physics engine?
sounds like the way to go, at least until LC has implemented the rest of the SKIA library: https://skia.org

Re: Rename folder with text from variable

HI jchasa, welcome to the forum! I always use an absolute pathname to rename files/folder, otherwise it is not always predictable, where the renamed file/folder will end. Been there, done that! :D Do like this: ... put the defaultfolder & "/Folder Name" into tFolder1 ## Make sure that field only con...
