Re: Can't 'Beep' on iPhone (Solved)

Just to be sure:
We can play MP3 files on iOS, but the BEEPSOUND has to be m4a, is that correct?

Yep, LC 6.0 was the first OSS version. We have some sort of history/timeline here:

Re: Button highlite not switching icons on iOS

Hi mvillion, although the engine allows sloppy syntax, maybe your combination is not in that range? Allowed dictions: ... set the HILITE of me to true ... or ... set the HIGHLIGHT of me to true ... You used -> highlite and that may have created a custom property of your button(s) named -> highlite a...

Re: photo/video-slideshow getting content from webserver

Hi propeller, Thank you Klaus. So i guess, i would have to read out the folder to get all the filenames, store it in an array or something which declares if it is an image or a video and then play it. Seems doable. yes, any PHP (or even LC server) script that fetches the files from a folder on the s...

Re: photo/video-slideshow getting content from webserver

Hi propeller,

welcome to the forum!

Yep, that's an easy one, in LC you can do something like this:

Code: Select all

...
set the filename of img "your_image" to "https://www.a_server.com/a_folder_with_images/image666.jpg"
...
So the answer to your question is: Yes, doable! :D

Hi Kaveh,

just a shot in the dark, but is this a HTTPS url?
Apple does not allow displaying HTTP urls anymore.

Re: Multiple palette stacks

On my Mac and Win "the raisepalettes" is TRUE by default, so maybe this is not the case on Linux?

Re: play audioClip just plays static

Hi Mark, OK, glad you got it working! :-) Yes, the (old and internal, no dependencies) "play ac xyz" command is very limited and will only play uncompressed WAV and AIF files (obviously <= 16 bit) and the compressed AU format. The player object uses the multimedia-engine of the underlying OS, so tha...

Re: Buliding a C/C++ external for LiveCode 9.01 and Xcode 10

Hi all, @Klaus~ so they are going to kill off externals for sure? I just thought FFI was going to be an addition to, not a replacement of externals :? sorry, I don't know for sure, but it really looks like this might be the case. No new external since a couple of years, everything is going "widget" ...

Re: Buliding a C/C++ external for LiveCode 9.01 and Xcode 10

Hi all, I'm afraid "externals" had their time, but they are dead as dead can vbe and the future is FFI, as bogs already mentioned. Here an overview/introduction what that is: https://livecode.com/docs/9-0-0/extending-livecode/extending-livecode/ Unfortunately this stuff is way over my head! :D Best ...

Maybe a "resizecontrol" handler in the widget will do the trick?
