Re: specialFolderPaths

Could the fact that my app is not yet signed and packaged make a difference here? I am simple dropping the build made from LiveCode into the Applications folder and then creating a folder for my files inside of the Applications Support folder. No, that should only make a difference if you put the a...

Re: specialFolderPaths

Would the latter location be specialFolderPath(“engine”) & “/Contents/MacOS/dataStack.livecode”? Yes, and unless the current user has ADMIN permissions, we are not allowed to write there, which makes this even more mysterious! Maybe it will work without revCopyFile: ... put specialFolderPat...

Re: specialFolderPaths

AHA! Yes, that is true! Do something like this: ## Or wherever you put the script on startup send "Do_the_copy" to me in 1 secs ## or even a shorter period, do some tests, if neccessary. end startup Then put your script into the separate hanlder "Do_the_copy" in the stackscript. This usually "cures"...

Re: specialFolderPaths

Did you check "the result" right after revcopyfile? Maybe that will give you a hint: ... put specialFolderPath("Resources") & "/dataStack.livecode" into sourceFile put storagePath into destinationFolder revCopyFile sourceFile, destinationFolder if the result <> EMPTY then answer "Error:" & CR & the ...

I had this problem, too, some months ago, but the DOCK setting described above cured this inconvenience.

Re: create new marker on map widget

Hi Oliver,

did you read the last paragraph of this page "Deploying on Android":
https://livecode.com/docs/9-0-0/components/map-widget/
Looks like you need to supply an Google Maps API key!

Hi Bogs,

I think ALL of Gregs questions relate to LiveCode Builder!
Simply because this is the LiveCode Builder forum, and Greg is no newbie. 8)

Re: how to get "the markers" values of map widget

Hi Kosta, sorry for being a bit late for the party, "the markers" is an Array, so you need to: ... put the markers of widget 1 into tMarkerArray ## Now loop through all KEYS of that array and extract the "titles" put the keys of tMarkerArray into tKeys ## First collect data into a variable: repeat f...

Re: frame-byframe with Video Formats

Hm, on my Mac I loaded an MP4 video file (timescale 1000, 25 FPS) into a player and added this script to the player: on currentTimeChanged pNewTime put CR & pNewTime after msg end currentTimeChanged Then I manually started the video and got this in the messge box until I stopped the player again: 0 ...

Re: Invisible syntax error?

Hi Craig, I copied your script, pasted it here into a fresh button and could compile and execute without errors. Result as exspected and described in the dictionary. Check for invisible and unwanted characters in the code. macOS 10.13.6, LC 9 P.S. "difference" was introduced in LC 9 according to the...

I fell afoul of thinking that "currentTimeChanged" was related to a frame change. This assumption did not work out.
Unfortunately the dictionary is really misleading here:
currenttimechanged
...
Sent to a player when the user switches to another frame.
...
This is simply not true.
