Re: Issue with with images in arrays
does it cease to be considered to be an image object? Should I stop thinking about objects? Essentially yes And no. It's hard to explain but although there are "controls" (objects) and "containers" in LC this isn't how you're trying to do things. Jacque could probably describe things better. But yo...

Re: LiveCode 9 quits unexpectedly
You say "quits unexpectedly" but you also say "freezes" and "unresponsive". Before trying too much blind troubleshooting, do you have the backdrop on? I wonder whether you have a hidden dialog box waiting for you to click "ok" or respond to a prompt to save the stack before the build proceeds? Other...

Re: How to replace the windows `beep` sound
I said There are various ways to get there but a quick way: Press Windows key+R to bring up the Run box Type "control mmsys.cpl,,2" and hit enter. (Don't include the quotes but do include the double commas.) As I said, one way, and a quick way. Anyone used to using terminal would probably agree. Loa...

Re: How to replace the windows `beep` sound
Uh, that's what I said. And there are many ways to reach that interface. Using a typed command was simpler to describe than trying to lead someone through "click that, tab that". The point I wanted to stress is that replacing a default Windows beep isn't going to "make music" which is what the OP wan...

Re: How to replace the windows `beep` sound
You can save a new sound scheme with your own imported sounds, as I mentioned above. You have to save the scheme, then choose each alert notification type, and browse to the sound file you want the OS to play when that alert notification is triggered. I just don't see that playing an individual beep...

Re: Android 9 TV Box: acting on remote control
Reading up, it seems like a tactic of spammers to target dormant forum accounts. One suggestion I saw would be to force accounts inactive for 6 or 12 months to re-authenticate via email before accepting the post.

Re: Android 9 TV Box: acting on remote control
It's clear that this latest is not a valid post. I think there has been a spate of spam recently from forum accounts that were registered a few years ago and have been dormant for some time. I don't know whether there's been some hacker-compromised accounts or something but there does seem to be a t...

Re: CSV UTF-8
I don't know anything about how using a Mac would affect this, but have in the past used text files with BOM generated from LC on Windows to be read by TV station tricaster in RTL languages. I wonder whether the order of the steps of your file creation might be part of the issue? Just maybe put numt...

Re: Using field with "answer" dialog open
#2 is the most difficult Spam to deal with, so Klaus's sixth sense is invaluable in this respect. The risk is that rarely, a valid post by new user whose first language is not English may be deleted as spam. Not great on the very rare occasions this may happen. I much prefer Richard's approach of a...

Re: Can recieve iOS push notifications, but how to send?
I read through the lesson, its comments and the bug reports that were referenced. It seems like it would be possible to rewrite the process in LC to use tsNet to handle the curl commands, but it's dependant on an update. I am not sure whether or when that's been done. Sending a push notification is ...
