Re: Datagrid

SQL Yoga is great, and provides a consistent method of dealing with SQL queries as well as some data validation, escaping and sanitisation. It does have its own syntax, but you will need to understand the native SQL to be able to use it. There's nothing it can do that you couldn't roll your own. It ...

Re: Fast 2D graphics for games and simulation

Malte's Animation Engine is fantastic and gives many invaluable functions to make it simpler to produce animated results.
Unfortunately in this context, it's written in LC script and not part of the engine, so there is no performance benefit. An engine-based animation library would be great.

I cut my teeth on Z80 assembler with the ZX Spectrum. It was cool then. It got impossibly beyond capability after that.

I don't see where he's confirmed that the value in the field is not taking extra empty lines / cr through to the variable value. He just said "no luck" but I still suspect that the issue is with a blank line/ cr in the input field .

Re: math

I think the value in the variable named age must nor be valid. ("age" isn't a reserved word, is it? I don't think so.) Try put field "input" into tAge if tAge is a number then put 67 - tAge into Y put max (1,Y) into X else answer "tAge is not a valid number and contains" && tAge end if I am going to...

Re: No matching ABIS?

I don't know specific info about the Fire tablet, but you shouldn't need to flash roms just to get an app onto a device. Unless things have changed a lot recently, just look up how to "sideload" an apk.

Re: Windows build crashes on Mac (help!)

I don't know / can't test or provide any real answers, but a couple of things: specialFolderPath parameters should be quoted - specialFolderPath ("documents"). LiveCode generally tries to help and interpret unquoted literals in an appropriate manner, so that's not likely to be the fix here, but espe...

Re: Sort List Fields

No, I think the request is for a sort that correlates the index of field 1 with field 2. So when the sort order changes in field 2, the lines of field 1 change sort order to match.
I'd play with this more but on phone, away on hols.

FWIW, I also get a failure when trying to decompress the uAllWords of the stack in Maria's lesson (claiming it is not compressed data, the same as one of her errors).
This is on Windows 10 with LC 9.0.1 rc1

Re: POST_[] RESULT to TEXT FIELD

LC server can do this simply. Php "echo" is equivalent to LC "put". So you are not trying to fake a user filling in a webform by taking the value in the input box and posting to a url. Instead you are filling the form and posting to the same url and want to redraw the screen with the same form but a...
