Haha, that's of old, I always think "jwack" the same as I can't help but say "Klausimausi" :)

Re: Having an issue using replace and Item number

I doubt there would be any difference in measurable terms but you can eliminate the check for the empty temp var and just

Code: Select all

put tLine & cr after tempsortedxml
at the end just delete the last char to get rid of the trailing cr.

Re: Play (audioClip) delay / hang

Preplaying the audioClip doesn't help. It hangs and delays every time. I used play audioClip because the sound file is very small and it avoids lots of problems I had with QuickTime and the transition to post-QuickTime after it was deprecated. I can try a player object but I have heard about similar...

Play (audioClip) delay / hang

A stack with animation has a whistle.wav audioClip imported. When the animation gets to a certain position the sound is supposed to play. It has been working fine for a considerable time on my old laptop (Windows 10, 32 bit, LC 9.0). I just tried it on a new laptop (Windows 10, 64 bit, LC 9.0) and w...

Re: Use of layers in groups of groups - some observations

What Klausimausi said. Also it is just more readable, every Livecoder will find it much more familiar to read "the property" versus getting a value from "tVariable".

Re: Use of layers in groups of groups - some observations

I was just playing with your stack and actually on my system (Windows 10, LC 9) the grabbed photogroup has a nice semi-transparency that is not obscured by any of the other groups while being dragged! But anyway, I checked and yes, rather than relayer to a specific number over the top and outside th...

Re: Use of layers in groups of groups - some observations

For nested groups with relayer, this is where "the owner of" comes in handy.

Re: Use of layers in groups of groups - some observations

"relayer" is also a very useful, and possibly more convenient way to manage things these days. You can relayer button "someButton" to front of the owner of button "someButton" assuming someButton is in the group "someGroup" (ie someGroup is the owner of someButton and there isn't more nesting) then ...

Just to add more mud to the water, value() is a useful* sidestep/hybrid/tweenstep twixt direct native syntax and the "do" construct.

Re: exitField firing multiple times

In the development menu, you can find the message watcher, which gives you a list of all the messages as they fire. In real time, so it's not easy to read, but with some judicious stopping and starting and filtering, you could track down the sequence of events and what happens immediately before the...

Re: Having an issue using replace and Item number

Yes, what is the expected result? If you are looking for 1,2,1,4,5,6,3 then "replace" is not what you need, as it will replace all instances of the matched value in tLine. If you only want to replace item 3 then simply put 1 into item 3 of tLine If it is not what you need, then we need to understand...

Re: Image Upload

The point is, how does the SERVER handle the receipt and processing of the posted data?

Re: Image Upload

It kind of depends on the server side what you need to do to send it.
Are you using LC Server to handle the data posted to it? Or php? Can we see some of the code used to receive and process the posted data.
Then we can see what kind of data formatting to do to match what it wants to receive.
