Re: SQL Statement

First question, are the database column names really the same as the variable names? I mean in the database structure do you really have columns called 'tUserNameCheck' and 'tImageCheck'?

Re: Random Loops

When you get the seconds, it is the time, now, in seconds since the start of the epoch (1970, Jan 1). So "the seconds + 3" is three seconds later, still measured from epoch start, but obviously 3 seconds difference. wait 10 would have been only to introduce a delay to the loop so you don't have a lo...

Re: Random Loops

Sure, but you can on mouseUp set the cTimeUp of me to false put empty into fld "BOOM" put empty into fld "NUMZ" put 1 into KOUNT send "endTimer" to me in 3 seconds repeat until the cTimeUp of me is true put random(20) into line KOUNT of fld "BOOM" put KOUNT into fld "NUMZ" add 1 to KOUNT end repeat ...

Re: Random Loops

Can you elaborate? Do you mean you want a display to update with randomly sorted values over and over and then stop after three seconds? (Thereby "picking" the top value which will be a random number from the pool?) I have a vague idea along the lines of a lottery draw where the balls tumble around ...

Re: Sorting data question

Looks like "grouping" is the desired outcome. As Craig mentioned above, sort by item <n> is simple. It is also non-destructive, and can be used iteratively to sort a previously sorted list into groups. This is probably your simplest way to tackle this at the moment. http://forums.livecode.com/viewto...

Re: OpenStack not runnning

Also check the card script - the openStack (and other) messages follow the message path through the script of card 1 before the stack script. (It is common to put openStack or preOpenStack etc handlers in card 1 script to avoid substacks without openStack handlers from triggering the mainstack handl...

Re: Copy Files in Standalone settings

When you add files in the standalone builder, they will be bundled on the mobile device in the specialFolderPath ("resources") location. This is not a writeable location. If you need to save edits to the text file, you must copy it to the specialFolderPath ("documents") folder. (First check if it ha...

Re: Action on return, enter and also on button click

Notwithstanding that there may be other considerations or approaches (eg on closeField), depending on your user interface and program flow, where you have multiple possible triggers of the same code, you can easily avoid code duplication by leveraging the message path. Create a handler in a suitable...

Re: mouseChunk in a loop

I'm not sure what you're trying to do, but wouldn't you be better off with the "selectionChanged" message and changing the colour of the "selectedChunk"?

Re: Convert with variable

Yes you can. But step through your code in the debugger and see the value of the it variable. When you convert the variable varTime, there is no "it" variable - the converted value is in the varTime variable already. You can either put "09:15 AM" into varTime convert varTime to dateItems add 7 to it...

Re: Disappearing windows and menus

But, the better solution to the Project Browser issues would be to fix the Project Browser issues. (The trouble is getting "issues" defined as reproducible bugs in the QC so they can be fixed. But I am sure they must be noticeable to more than just the odd user.)

Re: Disappearing windows and menus

Haha, I have used the application browser since forever, and it doesn't suffer the same problems as the PB. I hated the PB at first, and slowly grew to tolerate it because it was improved from its first instantiation, but the performance became very bad along with other aspects of the IDE during the...
