Re: tsNet on LC server

Wow Torsten, thanks for coming back to this thread with helpful details of your experience. And hi! I actually worked around this issue ages ago (as you might expect) with shelling out - in my case using WGET, but with the same result, a shell call doing the file handling and parsing the value retur...

Re: Deployment to Kindle Fire 7”

I need to be able to deploy to Kindle Fire 7 and have encountered a problem on trying to test on the device: Checking target device architecture failed: error: device unauthorized. This adb server's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set Try 'adb kill-server' if that seems wrong. Otherwise check for a confirma...

Re: Stopping a list of musical notes

Also in a repeat loop, a wait statement will be blocking.

Try :

Code: Select all

wait 1 seconds with messages
which should allow o/s housekeeping processes to deal with messages like button presses and so on.

Re: Date and Time in RFC 3339 format

I doubt it is on the roadmap to have RFC 3339 format dates in LiveCode very soon, or at least if it is and implemented before fixing the pre 1970 date bug on Windows then I will be surprised, as well as very upset. https://quality.livecode.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4941 (As this report is dated 2007, you ...

Re: Creating a LiveCode User Interface Programmatically

Here is a tip for you: In the Property Inspector you can see the settings you can apply to any objects. The display will show the "description of the property" by default and if you hover over the description with the mouse pointer you will see a tooltip with the actual property name that applies to...

Re: macOS 10.14 Mojave compatibility.

Yes, I think the rewrite has done something, so that there is no inspector for profiles. I haven't dabbled with profiles since probably v 2.8 so can't remember anything about how it was in the inspector then. Like you though, I have a current project (well mine is a personal "atmospheric" fake app f...

Re: macOS 10.14 Mojave compatibility.

Where in the property inspector do you find the references to the current profile assignments? In 9.5.0 dp-1 on Windows I can see nothing in the PI. Also, the profile assignment should ignore objects that do not have a matching profile name when switching via revSetStackProfile. It is behaving more ...

Hmmm, how do you access profiles these days? Nothing in the property inspector I can see.

Re: Play a movie from a website

I would have to wonder whether it is the platform/url target being the issue, as bogs asked at first. If you try on a desktop PC and use a media player such as VLC or whatever, and give it the url, will it play? If we can ensure the url will feed the video directly (without being surrounded by the V...

Re: Marty McFly's middle name is Metacard

The script editor on 8 series (and 7 and 6, somewhat) Windows versions was pretty dire. Often literally unusable. (30 seconds between keystrokes to text appearing on screen. Pasting code into places the cursor had been "significant timescales previously" - I mean more than a minute.) 9 series is bet...

Re: SQL Statement

First question, are the database column names really the same as the variable names? I mean in the database structure do you really have columns called 'tUserNameCheck' and 'tImageCheck'?

Re: Random Loops

When you get the seconds, it is the time, now, in seconds since the start of the epoch (1970, Jan 1). So "the seconds + 3" is three seconds later, still measured from epoch start, but obviously 3 seconds difference. wait 10 would have been only to introduce a delay to the loop so you don't have a lo...

Re: Random Loops

Can you elaborate? Do you mean you want a display to update with randomly sorted values over and over and then stop after three seconds? (Thereby "picking" the top value which will be a random number from the pool?) I have a vague idea along the lines of a lottery draw where the balls tumble around ...
