Re: Problem with Android Standalone Application

Is the "play" command supported on Android? What if you use mobilePlaySoundOnChannel instead?

Re: Can LC set an objet to the top laye of a group with script?

Ahem... A closer look at RELAYER in the dictionary will show you that you can relayer <objectref> to front of group <groupref> (or to back, to put it to the lowest layer of the group) You can deal with nesting of groups by including "the owner" as a self-reference relay me to front of the owner of m...

Re: Get FileList on Remote PC via SFTP

I realise that there is nothing in this thread that specifically identifies a public site and credentials, but... you really shouldn't use the real password on a public forum, and I feel that even if it is a raspbi pi on a private network, the live server should have the password changed nevertheless.

Re: Get FileList on Remote PC via SFTP

You do have to run the command tsNetInit to initialise it. I don't see that in your script sample. If you add it, is that the simple answer?

Re: Request for character wrap (not word wrap) in fields

Hi Thierry
Yes, that's what I was thinking, so doesn't Scott Rossi's live_wrap stack do what is needed? (I must admit not having yet been able to try it out, but I believe it's intended to tackle the problem the way Rob wants.)

Re: Request for character wrap (not word wrap) in fields

on textChanged --formatTheText end textChanged The textChanged message should cover what you need, a paste of new text will definitely cause the message to fire. I understand why you want to do this, but not exactly what it is you want. Do you have an example of how any other text editor does what ...

The ones that worked, were they ones with ones? If they were ones without ones then I am surprised any worked.

Re: Livecode Mailing List and Livecode Forums

Still suffers from exactly the same problems, if you'll allow me to jump back in. Sorting by thread suffers from the same broken hierarchy as people reply to different messages in the same thread. Sorting by subject gives an apparently random order of posts, the top one of the thread is a reply to t...

Re: Livecode Mailing List and Livecode Forums

The mailing list is terribly hard to follow posts in order, the nabble list arranges things in chronological order with threads broken up and interspersed with other posts. Responses are threaded according to the post being replied to, not the topic as a whole. Trying to follow a conversation there ...

Re: BUG

OK, now I will chime in and say that to me, it would be more normal (in Britland) to say something "bears the hallmarks of" to typify or compare, rather than earmarks. A hallmark being a (sometimes set of) stamp(s) in an article fashioned from gold or precious metal to indicate the maker and grade o...

Broken cache? Try emptying and resetting the cache on your browser, and/or try another browser. Otherwise the course providers should be able to help, assuming you can contact them? Does the course login page show any "contact us" info or other helpful details?

Re: Installing and uninstalling on Windows10 Pro 64

Another thing you *could* do is check the task manager to see whether there are any LiveCode updater processes running which need to be killed to allow the uninstall to proceed. Sometimes you also get LiveCode instances that start, but never render a visible window, so again they need to be killed, ...

Re: [SOLVED] Message box

I took a while to grok the message box when I first started with LiveCode (or Runtime Revolution as it was then). But yes, it will become valuable to you as you get more used to it. It is a place for ephemeral output, such as debugging by including a line to "put tValue" at points so you can get an ...
