Re: LiveCode Programmer Competency Matrix

Probably, this LiveCode Programmer Competency Matrix should be a collaborative effort. I will make a draft for the areas that I know better: bitmap images and vector graphics. There are developers with a lot of expertise in other topics like Databases, User Interfaces, Text Fields, Message Path, Cod...

Re: revBrowserCEF on LC 9

Looks like LC9 could not use old Externals from LC6 (or I don't know how to install it correctly) but LC7 allows to install revBrowserCEF following exactly every instruction from this LiveCode lesson: http://lessons.livecode.com/m/4071/l/6347-how-to-install-3rd-party-externals-for-use-in-the-ide-and...

Re: PSEUDOCODE

A discount of 3 cents for a product looks irrelevant but when you
start counting all the money offered in discounts, coupons and offers
suddenly collecting all these bits makes a lot of sense.

revBrowserCEF on LC 9

Hi All, How could I install revBrowserCEF in LC 9.0.2? I am having problems running some stacks on LC 9.0.2 that use Apple Webkit inside the html widget. Notice that replacing the revbrowser.bundle and including the revBrowserCEF folder inside the application package of LC 9.0.2 does not work and ju...

Re: Audio and Video export possibilities

How many of you remember an external created for Livecode
that plays MOD files?

That external could play streaming music too.

Re: PSEUDOCODE

Hi meobeou, Hi, I am new to studying IT and i have an assignment question which is giving me trouble. A little off topic, but if anyone here knows their pseudocode I have a question for you. I need to design an algorithm that calculates how much profit can be made by multiplying the remaining weight...

Re: [SOLVED] Testing mouseColor function

Now that i think about it, that kind of new function
could be useful too. The name of such function
could be "mouseColorControl" and returns the
pixels as four comma separated hexadecimal
numbers: FF,FF,00,FF

Re: Audio and Video export possibilities

Hi Klaus, I have no idea if this is feasable or if and what licence problems might arise, but it would surely be a good thing, if LC would/could provide an internal (= build-in) framework for multimedia playback, like VLC or MPlayer or whatever. I'd rather love to see this than any EXPORT capabiliti...

Re: [SOLVED] Testing mouseColor function

This stack demonstrate that mousecolor function calculates the color of visible pixel, not the color of the top object. In this stack with a yellow background, a flat orange rectangle is made gradually transparent using an alpha channel. Screen Shot 2019-01-16 at 3.14.57 PM.png Al Flat_color_plus_Al...

Re: All Points in a Line

What would you do with such "standalone" engines? Attach to a LC stack? It would be better if LC would provide a "pure" JS access to libbrowser (without native display). If I wish to have real speed I use webgl. But I refuse to publish apps/stacks that run in very special browsers and with very spe...

Re: [SOLVED] Testing mouseColor function

The mousecolor does not provides the alpha channel value.
Just the pixel color under the cursor (or at least the
pixel color value that the OS report to the function).

Re: Testing mouseColor function

Changing the color profile to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 on Mac OSX is the solution in my own setup. Did you test this also with pixels that are not fully opaque? Yes, I imported a screenshot of a group of two vector graphics (Bouba-Kiki.svg) and the transparent alpha channel changes the color value of the ...

Re: All Points in a Line

Amazing! Thanks a lot for making this stack. :D By the way, given that you are using the default browser for running Javascript, Have you benchmarked the Apple javascript engine of the default browser (JavascriptCore) against the standalone engines Google V8 and Firefox Spidermonkey? https://v8.dev/...
