Re: Community Showcase

I was wondering if there is a place/section where apps, games or UI's that have been built by the community are being shared - not stacks or source code - just like short descriptions with pics, vids or gifs..? Hi Dean, Check these links: http://livecode1001.blogspot.com/ http://livecodeshare.runre...

You must keep asking for the updated course and tell them that you could provide feedback for all lessons, while the course is being updated. By the way, many years ago, I paid 75 dollars too for Dan Shafer's programming book:...

Education for an Information Age - Free Book

Hi All,

Download this free book: "Education for an Information Age" written by
Bernard John Poole and Elizabeth Sky-McIlvain
with John Evans and Yvonne Singer.

Many chapters of this book could be adapted to teach them
using Livecode:

Re: Seriously no sound on linux ?

Hi Felix, Some Linux distributions still have problems playing sounds in LiveCode. In Linux, try this method to run a LiveCode application with sound: 1) Save your Livecode application (with embedded sounds) as a Windows Executable 2) Run your Windows Livecode application in Linux using WINE 3) Post...

Hi All, I have been testing the new function drawingSVGcompile (LC9dp11 only) and want to praise Mark and every member of LC Developer Team for all their hard work. LC is more and more useful with each release. This new function drawingSVGcompile is a giant leap towards complete SVG support within L...

Re: image rotation

Hi, I'm making a clock app, and of course I need to rotate the hands of the clock (it's a retro clock app). So the hands have to rotate around a point that is not their exact center. Hi yeldarb, Download the svg clock stack attached to this forum thread: http://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=1...

Convert Wikipedia XML data to HTMLtext

Searching for another file in my email, I found this stack. :) This code parses Wikipedia XML data into HTMLtext to display inside a field. Notice that you could paste the XML data copied from a Wikipedia webpage into the field labeled "Wikipedia XML Data". For example, you can copy the source from ...

Lend me your imagination for just a moment for considering the many possible outcomes
of implementing this idea:

What would happen if we promote Local Sponsored Multimedia Mania Contests
using only Livecode Desktop IDE and LiveCode Server?

Re: Is livecode dead?

I agree with all the points you made, I am just saying I can see the question from one who has followed something that didn't seem dead then suddenly was. Like Hc. Which I still don't understand how that happened. I can tell you when HyperCard died: Last week of March 2004 (Monday or Tuesday) http:...
