Re: Icon in Taskbar

That should happen automatically as it does for all apps, provided you have at least one toplevel stack open. How many windows does your app have, and what are their modes?

Re: Best way to validate SSN

The safest thing to do with information as critical as SSN is to never require it. I'm sure you've exhausted all alternatives before committing to something that will make your system a target, but this is important enough to include in this discussion for the benefit of future readers.

The User Guide included with the install is probably the best place to start. How much of that have you read?

How did you check the number of open sockets?

And do you use any timers?

Re: A compile problem

Thanks, Panos.

1. Why would not looking messages prevent the SB from succeeding without notice?

2. Is there any internal discussion of moving the SB to a separate process to make all these complications go away?

Re: how to connect to MsSQL server database

Unless this is strictly for LAN use, you'll want to use something like PHP, Python, or LiveCode on the server to create an HTTPS API, rather than expose the DB directly to the open Internet.

Re: A compile problem

Ah, thanks. Script compilation errors provide more detail. This build issue just seems like a bug.

What's the target platform?

Re: A compile problem

I'm on a phone right now, but can you tell us what the error is? Normally the compilation error dialog will take you right to it.

Re: Looking for LiveCode coders

The OP here reads like many RFPs I've responded to over the years. They're often vague on scope for practical reasons well addressed once the NDA is in place. I read "excellent proficiency" is merely a way of asking for someone with an intermediate-to-advanced level of experience, which seems a reas...

Re: Project Browser documentation?

For general orientation to concepts and for IDE use, see the User Guide (second item from the top in the Help menu). He did look there, if I read his question correctly... Indeed he did. My mistake. One of the downsides to spending less time here in the Forums is that the "New Posts" link brings up...

Re: mac address

What would keep them from just moving the generated file with the program? Also, is there a livecode UUID generator? Yes, LC has a UUID function. But you're right, a self-generated identifier would not solve the problem you're working on. For privacy reasons mobile OS vendors are moving away from e...

Re: Project Browser documentation?

The Dictionary is only what its name implies, a concise reference for the language.

For general orientation to concepts and for IDE use, see the User Guide (second item from the top in the Help menu).
